I am looking to adopt / purchase a couple of Tonk kittens, strictly as pets. What is the price range I can expect to pay here in the Northeast?

Tonkinese sold as pets usually cost $350-500. Sometimes breeders will have older cats available to a good home for much less; these can be excellent pets. Most breeders will not let them go until they are 12 weeks old, although this varies with the breeder.
if you just want a pet cat to adopt check out www.petfinder.com and sear ch for adptable cats, there may be a couple mixes and purebreds for adoption near you.

Hard to say. She's done with her showing and breeding life, so the cost should be substantially less than a younger show quality cat that could still be bred. But she is a purebred. I would say $200-300 would be reasonable, but it comes down to what the breeder is asking and what you are willing to pay, as it is with most private party pet sales.

I would suggest you look at the cfainc.org website (Cat Fanciers Association) and check with some of the breeders listed in your area. I know there is some variation in pricing between regions, so you do need to ask someone in your area. Good luck, Tonks are sweethearts! purrs
