Yes you probably can but you have to be a total idiot to do so. Don't listen to instructions, don't follow orders, be late at everything, make constant mistakes and just be a total nonconformist. Then they may put you throught a recycle class or repeat the boot camp again. If you don't conform again you will probably get what is know as a "Undesireable Discharge", or worse a "Dishonorable Discharge", either way you will just hurt yourself more than help as this record will follow you for the rest of your life and can really hurt you for a chance of any high paying employment positions because most reputable employers do background checks on new "new hires" and if something like this is on your' record they will probably figure if you couldn't get along in the military you probably won't get along with managers and supervisors either so ....."You Lose"....Think twice if thats why you asked this question........

By not passing the PT tests or qualifying on the rifle range. But I guarantee you, your life will be a living hell.
You made a committment, and the sgts will be all over you like flies on s***, and show no mercy. until you reach the point where you WANT to qualify in order to get out of boot camp.
If for some reason, it turns out you have a disqualifying medical condition, you may get a medical discharge, but with the army having enough other things to do, the priority on a scale of 1 to 10, will be just above zero. When hell freezes over they might get around to the paperwork.
The other choice is to commit a crime, that might get you a discharge. But before the discharge comes, you'll spend time in an army stockade.( army terminology for JAIL.)

You actually have to try hard to fail recruit training. If you can't pass the fitness tests, they may just put you in a remedial training platoon until you can.

Coming down with glandular fever is a good way to get a medical discharge (in the Australian Defence Force, at least), but it's not exactly the kind of thing you can give yourself.

But if you simply can't adapt to military life, get depressed often, mess up frequently, score poorly on tests and assessments, they may send you to see a psychologist and eventually discharge you. I've seen it happen. It's full proof, but more grief than it's worth.

I knew of a recruit who had an attitude problem - not only did he mess up often, but he stormed away from instructors in a couple of cases, once pushed another recruit... all the recruit instructors did everything they could to have him kicked out. But he managed to change towards the end and barely managed to scrape by.

Yes you can, but it isn't easy. Though drill instructors are tough as hell on you, it's there job to get you through boot camp. You can get kicked out due to a medical condition, that's the most common. If you are not meeting expectations in boot camp, they don't just kick you out. If anything, not doing well, either on purpose or not, just extends your time in boot camp. They'll move you to another division that tries to fix whatever your problems are, this basically amounts to doing 14 or so weeks of boot camp instead of 10. If you're nervous about failing, don't be, it's hard but they want you to succeed, so they do everything they can to make sure you do get through. If you're just trying to find and easy way out, don't even go to boot camp, you'll just waste the time of others who want to serve their country.

You can fail boot camp if you are not up to it physically or if you crack up under the pressure: they do try to humiliate you to see if you are strong enough mentally too.

nicely, i do no longer think of you're able to try this because of the fact they do have a checklist of all human beings's militia provider. in case you failed one branch what makes you think of you need to bypass yet another branch's boot camp, they're all notably lots the comparable. My son replaced into in the army, surpassed boot, surpassed different training for the job he replaced into specified to do & then replaced into sent to sea. A typhoon got here up & he have been given deathly ill, had to be taken off of the deliver & replaced into informed he may be discharged. He asked to be transfered to a diverse branch of the provider & replaced into informed that no rely what branch he served in he might could be transported via sea & he does no longer be in positive condition for accountability! So, after 18 months, he replaced into out of the provider; very lots against his desires!

u can by just being a screw up. but believe me u'll be there forever before they let u go. u signed a contract and they are gonna do whatever they have to do to keep u. i had a girl in my squadron that had been recycled like 4 times. and just 2 wks before graduation she got in trouble and was busted back down to week three which is like week 2 cuz theres a week 0. omg felt bad for her. and there was another girl who was on medical was gonna get released but she had been there for 3 months waitin on paperwork. it' s not hard u just have to have the determination but if u dont wanna do it dont... there are other people who will be glad for the oppurtunity.

You can fail by not passing the PT test, not being able to adjust etc. However it isn't an easy way to get out because they recycle you a few times first.
