I am for plastic surgery.
I think that if you are uncomfortable with your body and you would like to change something, go for it.
I think nothing is wrong with that and it is your and yours decision only.

I think plastic surgery can go too far for some people, to the point where they always see things on their bodies that they may label as "flaws" that can only be solved with plastic surgery (thanks to all the tv shows about it :p ) I wouldn't say this is a sign of self hatred, though it might be a sign of a misplaced value on how one looks versus how they are on the inside. I think plastic surgery can be acceptable in those situations where some body parts are grossly malformed or over developed. But it seems unnecessary to do more than that. Look at how Roseanne Barr looks today versus what she looked like before. It seems like she has a completely different face. I liked her chubbier cheeks and her nose back when she didn't have any surgery-they gave her a lot more character.

No, I wouldn't say that getting plastic surgery is a sign of self-hatred. If a person decides to get plastic surgery done due to some disformation, then it's perfectly understandable and reasonable for that person to get it.
If a person gets plastic surgery to make themselves "appear better", that's also reasonable in a sense that they just may desire to look a certain way.
Getting plastic surgery doesnt necessarily mean that they hate themselves.

There are many reasons to have plastic surgery. Sometimes a person may have a drastic change in the body like loosing a lot of weight. Would you "want" to go around the rest of your life with your thighs looking like melted candles? Or a turkey wattle neck? Or a apron of skin hanging over your pubic area?
I doubt it.
What if you have a hump on your nose that really bothers you but if you had if "fixed" you would feel better about yourself and raise your self esteem?

Not at all; I say if it makes you feel better on the inside as well as the outside, go for it.
