I have tried ignoring them, but it still bothers me. B/c they dont get it. I go to school full time, otherwise I would be looking for a new job. How to cope?

Go to work do your job and know that someday you will be doing better. If they are in their 40's they are probably going to be working at that type of job the rest of their life, while you move up in the work. Dont give them anything to gossip about do your job do it well and when its time to go home leave knowing that job isnt the rest of your life.

Good Luck. That will never change. I am also in my 40's and I work with people like that. It makes me sick. It also makes me wonder how they can have no life. I walk into the ladies room and they are grouped together whispering like JR HS kids. What a joke. I have way too much going on in my life for that crap. You can't get away from it. Honestly all you can do is feel bad for them for being such social rejects and ignore it. Keep reminding yourself that you are better and have more of life than they do!!! That crap will never ever change.

Not much you can do unfortuantely, I work with all girls not that that is bad, but you can imagine the amount of gossip there is and I admit I do partake in the occasional gossip, however it is not near as bad as some of the people I work with. I mean it is almost like they know things about you before you do. I think that if you could tell your boss maybe things could change but I doubt it. You may just have to be the better person always which can be really tough, Stick in there though I doubt you are going to retire from there or anything.

It is tough to work somewhere where others professionalism is not like yours. You could approach them about them talking about you behind your back. Tell them that their professionalism leaves a lot to be desired. Tell them you do not appreciate their actions/talking behind backs. You just want to work to support yourself in school. Sometimes, people will talk behind others backs because they are really jelous of them.

Do the best you can. Get the attitude that you are there only to do your best and you cannot change others. Don't let them feel like you have to quit and look for another job.

Good for you for working and going to school. Know that in your heart that you are making something of yourself. God knows your heart too. I will pray for your co-workers to start acting more professional and for your strength and courage. Don't stoop to their level. Continue to be yourself.

Pat on the back to you.

Maybe try talking to them and tell them how you feel.
It may make it worse but at least they know what they're doing wrong.
People like that probably wasted all their childhood and teenage years pretending and acting older. So now they're trying to turn back time because they want to be younger because life as an adult is very hard. Without realising, they might be upseting all around them.

I was in that situation a couple of months ago.. I used to work in a restaurant and all they did was ***** ***** *****, boss boss boss.. it was the living end! (I think they picked on me because Í was the youngest there (18) and they were in 40's, 50's

Just ignore them and try not to participate in conversation unless you have to.

Have you tried checking out jobs on the internet? that's how I found my new one in retail which is great..

If you hate all your co-workers then chances are that you are the culprit. Look in the mirror, it might be you the biggest backstabber of all. By the way, hate is a strong word. Start liking yourself, then you will be more careful with such harsh words. Good luck.
