History does not record anywhere at any time a religion that has any rational basis. Religion is a crutch for people not strong enough to stand up to the unknown without help. But, like dandruff, most people do have a religion and spend time and money on it and seem to derive considerable pleasure from fiddling with it.

Why can't we accept all religions as True, and as attempts made by the Universe/Spirit/God or Gods to communicate with humanity, but that the message just gets a bit garbled? There is Truth in all religions, wrapped up in the trappings of a particular culture, and filtered through human brains and human egos. The core of truth is there, though. There is more to the Universe than our science can ever know.

Why can't you all just understand that we are not going anywhere? It doesn't matter what you say,do, or think we will not just go away. We are here to stay and guess what you have to live with it. I say you don't like don't listen to it. Its the same as someone walking around naked in their house and a neighbor complains; you don't like don't look. It's funny today we had a poker run and not all of them were Christians in fact there were a lot that were atheists and we all seem to get along for the cause. We raised a lot of money for children for Christmas that might not get one otherwise and not one disagreement for the whole day. Funny people could learn a lot of life lessons from bikers!

Well, that would defeat the purpose of a religion. Without faith, religions couldn't get people to pay 10% of their money to the church. Churches would not be able to amass power the way they do (in the U.S. at least), buy these incredible buildings, pay for corporate jets, or lobby Congress without money.

Yes, religion is a coping mechanism. However, that doesn't mean that they're all bad. Religion should be taken in moderation, just like everything else.

I can accept that all religions are a path towards understanding.
As are all opinions and experiences of the "non-religious".

I will agree that "holy" books offer moral reminders.
They also offer spiritual guidance towards the source of creation.

We're all fools sometimes.....and we all cope with stuff that we don't know for sure, acceptance is a necessary step.

Peace and Love to you!

I dont want to say that all religions are false, but I do agree that all religions are here to help people deal with life. All religions are a way of life. If people would understand that then we wouldnt have religious wars. We all just need to have a clear understanding of what is right and wrong and if you have common sense then you know what is right and wrong.

We just need to be positive in our everyday lives and when we feel like we are falling of track refocus on God using religion thats all.

Because we are humans...

We have our own perspectives toward life..

And saying "the bible,Koran and any other holy books are false and are just a way to cope life" is just one of your understandings in life..

You are entitled to your opinion but you are not entitled to set is as fact because understand "something" does not mean that "something" is correct.

How sure are you towards your opinion?I'm sure it's is as firm as others who believes in God.

I've seen this answer before:

"Religion is a crutch for people not strong enough to stand . . ."

Does anybody really believe that? If so, why do You feel duty-bound to kick those crutches out from under them?

I have MS and walk with a cane. If i saw lazarus, would i have to scream for help? Would only religious people come to my rescue?

Why should everyone else except what you believe? Anyone who says that all the stories in the Bible are false when there is archaeological evidence of some of them is a bit foolish.

Most people reject reality and try to fill it with delusion, superstition and magical forces. People love to conform as well. And since this is how majority of the populace deal with reality, people find truth in numbers and mass appeal. We are conditioned to do this since day one. It's also very hard to change a belief once you have put your emotions into it.
