Spirits are real. They are created beings, some of which are faithful to God (angels), and some of which are not (demons). Ghosts are the supposed spirits of deceased humans that are supposedly wandering around old farmhouses rattling chains and throwing dishes, instead of being where God has said they would be - in heaven with Him or in hell apart from Him. "Entity" is just a general term meaning "a living presence". An entity could be a spirit, a human being, or an animal. But it could not be a ghost, since ghosts don't exist.

Spirit and Entity tend to be more general terms. A ghost is more specifically the spirit of a dead person, particularly one that is trapped or bound to a particular place -- this is called a haunting. Not all spirits of the dead are "ghosts." Some are what I call Ancestor Spirits -- these are spirits of the dead which can communicate with their living descendants in dreams, the spirits of deceased loved ones who watch over us and guide us. Not all spirits are human, though. Some are animal spirits, and these can often act very much like ancestor spirits -- especially the spirits of beloved pets. But there are also spirits that have never incarnated -- nature spirits, elementals, angels, demons, faeries -- some of these have very specific jobs, some of these are helpful and friendly, some of these are mischievous tricksters, and some of these have no interest in human affairs whatsoever.

I agree with Jason but there are 4 types of haunting: Residual, intelligent, entity and poltergiest. All fit the desprition of demons being disguised as ghosts exept "Residual" like the battle of Gettysburg war where lots of people died. So much psychic energy there brought on by an emotion death... left a paradox a type of time loop repeating almost the same events over and over again with the same out come. A place where the space-time continuem is shattered... its frozen at that time speeds up the haunt then back to normal. Science can explain that there is a creator even philosophy can but the bible only talks of demons and not ghosts. Psychical Science is the theoretical study of the paranormal not proven fact or false but a theory. Science is always right and so is God. Science is the search for fact, Philosophy is the search for truth, metaphysics is the search for the meaning of existence and religion is the search for belief. What if god was an ascended Alien the most powerful being in the universe? Would he still be the one true God.... of course. You are right but you could also be wrong we know all we know about God through the Bible but not all there is to know about science quite yet. You need faith in God but you also need not just knowledge but the understanding of science to it. I am a Gnostic Christian and believe in both the Bible and science equally because we still physically need science to survive in this world not just faith but both, right?

A ghost has been defined as the disembodied soul of a deceased person A spirit may be "the non-physical part of a person" and is more concerned with "essence An entity may be a force with no corporeal form But the terms are so interchangeable as to be almost meaningless

If you refer to ghosts as souls of the dead, then yes, there is a big difference. Ghosts do not exist. The dead are just that, dead and nonexistent. But there are spiritual beings around us with an agenda to propagate the ancient lie uttered first in Eden, that even if you sin you will not surely die. These spirits have been observing us for quite some time and are able to impersonate the deceased and communicate certain details from their lives through various spiritual media. Don't get fooled. Death is the opposite of life and not as many believe, a continued existence in some form. Once you grasp this concept it will become evident how important the idea of resurrection from the dead on account of Christ is.
Blessings,
Jack

Entities are physical and spiritual lifeforms. Spirits are invisible beings, or entities, of the spirit realm. Ghost, defined as an invisible entity, or spirit that leave our bodies when we physically perish, do nor exist!
