You need to talk to a recruiter.....oh waite....I am an Army Recruiter. Okay, well you need to talk to one face to face. You can join the Army with a GED now, actually for awhile now....like 2 years or more. We even can pay for you to take the GED. Anyway, I do believe the Navy will let you join as well. Marines far and few between there and Air Force gotta be a highschool graduate.

depends on the Branch. AF and Marines won't take you. Navy will take you if you score above a 50 on the ASVAB. Army takes the most GED holders, but again, you have to score a 50( as opposed to a 35) AND you are not eligibvle for certain jobs and do not get offered most of the binuses either.

OR, you can take one semester of 100 level college course( 5 classes/15 credits) and that elevates the GED to a high school diploma and you can now join any branch, so long as you other wise qualify.

to everyone saying you cant join the millitary with a G.E.D ...Bull Sh*t!! I had only a GED (and didnt even have a copy of that, only score records) and didnt even do very well on the ASVAB.And joined easily and got a 20k dollar bonus, and my MOS choice, and am currently awaiting my ship date, And this wasnt very long ago, yesterday in fact is when I swore in, you may not be able to sign up for active duty right away, but that wont be a problem on down the road, as for how you join, go talk to your local recruiter and youll be in in no time! Good Luck and thanx in advance if you do join!!

Actually, I think there was a cutt-off limit for the active army GED applicants. Im pretty sure that if you have a GED and score a 50 or over on the ASVAB you can get in, if you dont get a 50, you can join the Army Reserve or maybe the National Guard(I dont about the guard too much) and easily switch to active duty after training.

its possible

you might need a waiver.
but its nothing your recruiter wont do for you

they will probably offer you a bonus, but you will never collect.

and to anyone who said "the military is a fall back for anyone who didn't do so hot in school" you can kiss my furry white ***.

i graduated high school with a 3.5 gpa. not to bad
got my AAS in criminal justice, and earned over 45 credits towards another AA in physics.

decided i wanted to put on the uniform, and now im in the marines

by the time i enlisted i had probably accomplished more in my life than you ever will...

and by the end of my enlistment, i will have accomplished more than your entire line of family...

so suck my dick if you don't have respect for the armed forces.

you eat breath and **** the fruits of battles that were fought for you.
so show some respect dick wad

Talk to a recruiter. I know at one time they only took people with a GED a couple times a year. Where did you get your GED? Our son and daughter got in with no problem with theirs, but our daughter got hers from Job Corps and son got his through WING program in WI. Both are federal programs.

Go down and talk to the Air Force Recruiter. And don't forget to present a copy of your GED certificate.
