I woke up this morning (saturday) and couldn't remember the night before, or the day, I forgot the entire day (friday). I thought it was friday. After about a hour I wernt to sleep and woke hours later with my memory. Friday night I went to sleep at one am, woke at two am and went back to sleep, woke at three and went back to sleep, awoke at 7:30am without my memory of the previous day and went back to sleep and awoke at 11am. I wake usally at 5am weekdays and 9 on weekends. I go to sleep at 10pm weekdays and 1 am weekends. I didn't drink or use any mind altering drugs. What's wrong with me?

It is not uncommon to experience loss of memory or some confusion at one time or another. It would be worth consulting your primary care doctor. Do these episodes happen frequently? You do not have to be experiencing brain damage from an injury or from other causes of damage. I cannot tell you what your diagnosis is or if this will continue. Sometimes when a person goes through a severe stressful time it may cause memory problems. Some people have nightmares, some talk or yell while sleeping, and others may walk in their sleep. Your doctor may suggest that you have a sleep study done. This records brain activity, breathing problems,or any other sleeping problems.I would highly suggest that you seek professional investigation.

Did something stressful happen that day? Oh wait, you don't remember. Do you have a daily routine with little change? This would cause your days to run together and possibly skip a few days. Maybe you went all day friday thinking it was thursday for no reason and that's why you don't remember fridayBecause all day you thought it was thursday, you remember what you did friday as thursday. Just some thoughts.

This question might be one for a physician. I cannot tell if the reason for your periodic and episodic memory loss has to do with your sleep pattern or something else, such as a brain tumor. You may have sleep apea. I would see a physician and get an exam and take tests to determine a cause.

You might just need to get a better night's sleep.
Sometimes sleep medicine can give you amnesia, although it's not a mind-altering drug.
