I'm 5' 4"-5' 6" and I weigh 147 pounds. I hate my weight. I wear a size ten and I want to be able to wear a size two. If not a size two I want to at least lose enough weight so that I weigh 120 or less.
The problem is that I'm really impatient, so when something doesn't work in a few days (i.e. I don't see results) I am convinced that it isn't going to work. All I do is degrade myself and tell myself how fat I am.
The problem becomes that I need to lose 10 pounds by next week without killing, hospitalizing, or injuring myself. And nothing stupid is an option (i.e. throwing up, etc.) I want to lose the weight because of an audition and I don't want to be the biggest girl there and when I sing I look even worse, so I get disheartened in front of people.
Can anyone help me lose weight in a week? (Yes, I have been informed that you are only supposed to lose 2 pounds a week. I'm being stupid by not following that, too.)

The way not to do it is starve yourself, to start with. Just exercise and eat right. I did....lost 90 LBS because of it. Starving yourself won't help at all. Drink more water, eat less before bed, and don't eat for stress are the 3 things I follow and i'm going pretty well if i don't say myself. 90 LBS isn't anything like 5-10lbs so take my advice. First, you should stop degrading yourself. Make a list of ten things that are great about you (asking your best friend to help you is a good idea). Tape that up by your mirror so when you look in the mirror you see that too.

Next, make a resolve that you're going to change your lifestyle, not your pants size. Make a sign with your goal.....your goal should be "I want to lose weight to be healthier and feel great." instead of focusing on your pants size.....

Often, you'll feel better right away when you know in your head you passed up that double cheeseburger for a grilled chicken salad and some fruit and your body will feel better instantly. It's amental thing that may give you a sort of "instant gratification" that you seem to desire.

The rest still holds true. DO NOT lose 10 pounds in one week if you can avoid it. This may actually HURT your chances of losing weight. This is becuase when your body is that starved for calories you end up burning both fat AND lean muscle. You want to build muscle and lose fat because muscle burns calories just sitting there and it makes you stronger and toned.

As you already seem to know, the goal should be 1-2 lbs. per week through diet and exercise at least four times a week for at least thirty minutes.

As a last resort you may want to consider a personal trainer if you can. sometimes having to answer to another person givesyou that kick in the behind to stick to it.

I understand, that being overweight can be disinheartening, but let's not let it be life threatening. Everyone has seen you at this weight, I'll bet already. When you get up there, and start belting out songs, that's what they'll NOTICE! They'll be saying,"Dang, she can sing!" Some of our best vocalist's have been moderately overweight. Check out the opera folk's for instance. Once they get up there, and start 'crooning', do you think people notice if they have a pound, or two extra?(Generally more than two, but see? I didn't notice already!) These folks make BIG bucks! Why? Cause their GOOD! I'm willing to bet you are too! If you lose too much weight, too fast you're going to hurt your performance, also! After the audition, when everyone is blown away from your performance, you can concentrate on losing weight, if you wish. SLOWLY, HEALTHILY, so it will stay off, and you'll be adapting yourself to it. Your diaphragm is set to this weight. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and EARS! Check out Aretha Franklin's story, and others. You just go get 'em girl, and don't let NOTHIN' STOP YOU!

you do NOT need to lose weight FAST, you just need to lose weight

people who need to lose weight fast (like wrestlers getting ready to weigh in for their weight class) do all kinds of stupid and unhealthy things that are really not good for you

you need to find an exercise and eating (notice I didn't say DIET) plan that works for you; if you are 13 you will probably need help from an adult (like Mom) to buy the right foods for/with you and maybe create a reward system that gives you an incentive to stick with it

generally people can lose about a pound a week and feel good, a pound is about 3,500 calories of food energy, so if you cut down portions and control the snacks enough to cut back about 500 cal. a day that is about right

kids your age can get a tremendous amount of calories from bad snacks and sugary drinks loaded with high fructose corn syrup

try making yourself tea (with tea bags) and put it in the fridge to make iced tea; tea is actually good for you and you can add some sugar to it to taste good but yuo will still cut out most of the calories from bad soft drinks because you just can't get that amount of sugar that they use to dissolve in cold tea

the hardest part in changing your life is just making the decision that you really want to change, everything else is easier than that first step

There are millions of American kids that are in the same situation as you because of our bad habits with portion sizes and being lazy.

You also need to find a strenuous physical activity that you actually enjoy, it might just be walking. Walking is REALLY good for you. Start with just going around the block a couple of times and build up more each day and you will soon be walking for miles without realizing it. Try to get a friend into it with you. The next step is resistance training to build muscle stregth and burn more cal all day long. Lifting hand weights or using machines at a club is a good way to get started safely.

Pretty soon your friends will be asking you for advice!

You -CANNOT- lose 10 pounds in a week without getting hurt.

And yes you are being stupid by not following two pounds a week.. Just do it that way. Join a sports club or something, so you can have fun and not just think 'MUSTLOSEWEIGHT MUSTLOSEWEIGHT'. If it's for an audition, your weight shouldn't matter anyways.

losing weight too fast just makes it easier to put it back on. if you want the fastest long term results, eat 1300-1500 calories a day of healthy food, drink 8 cups of water, and excerize at least 5 times a week. also, don't eat after 6pm. its the only way sweetie. if you take my advice you can reach yr goal in about a month. good luckk <3

Honestly, my wife wanted to loose weight on her wedding. She lost a lot in just few days. Well she was very stressed. Also she only ate Salad. She went from a sized 7 to a size 2, but she did regret it when her dress didn't fit her anymore.

YOU MUST DRINK 5 X 8OZ GLASSES OF WATER EACH DAY.
THE DIET MUST BE FOLLOWED EXACTLY TO LOSE 10LBS IN 3 DAYS.

DAY 1
BREAKFAST
Black coffee/tea, ½ grapefruit, 1 slice toast, 2 spn of peanut butter or small tin baked beans.

LUNCH
Black coffee/tea, 4 oz tuna, 1 slice toast.

DINNER
2 Slices any cold meat, 1 cup string beans, 4oz beetroot, 1 small apple, 4oz vanilla ice cream.

DAY 2
BREAKFAST

4oz tuna, 4oz beetroot, 4oz cauliflower, ½ melon, 4oz vanilla ice cream.

Come on. I am sure you are pretty. You don't need to lose wieght. You are fine. By losing 10 lbs in one week you r going to hurt yourself and others. Please listen. Good luck!!!
