a police report was made but the bullet was not removed. now its causing some pain so the person wants it removed if possible.

That is a very interesting question. Do you realize the doctor will be required to report this to the authorities?
Day surgery, walk in, have it done under local anaesthesia, answer the police questions and walk out. It should be about the same as having a mole biopsied, I would think. Now I'll say I have no idea of the cost, so ask a surgeon or even a G.P. who could probably do it in his office.
