The Hospital Consumer Assist website gives these definitions for CCU & ICU:

"Intensive Care Unit (ICU) - a separate, clearly designated treatment area maintained within the facility solely for the care and treatment of patients who are critically ill

Coronary Intensive Care (CCU) - an intensive care unit for patients with life-threatening heart conditions, which is staffed with specially trained personnel and outfitted with equipment required for intense, comprehensive observation and care"
