You can download Open Office, which is a free open-source alternative to Microsoft Office. It contains a program called Writer which can create documents in MS Word .doc format.

There are many different ways. You can use www.openoffice.org to download the OOo software, which can do the conversion. You can also use www.docs.google.com to create .doc files.

Finally, save it as a .rtf in Wordpad (if you have Windows, and not another OS), and hope it can do all you need.

create the file, email it to yourself, go to the library and open it and if necessary copy it into word. most libraries have word on their computers as it is the most widely used program.
