I don't read Arabic. I have a Qur'an translation by Abdulla Yusuf Ali which I have been reading. I came across another translation by Muhammad A. S. Abdel Haleem. The comments say this book is written in modern English. So I'm thinking I might understand it better. Has anyone read this translation? Is it accurate?

I have already checked on classes at the my local masjid. The class is only offered at a time when I am at school. When I finish the semester, I will be able to go out there.

Well Yusuf Ali, Pickthal, and Shakir give the best translations, all three of them are on this website( http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/ ) You should look at the website and decide which translation is best for you. I personally prefer Yusuf Ali, but other people told me Pickthal is best for them. I guess it depends on the person, you should decide for your self.

Yusuf Ali is pretty well understood, but I like Mohsin Khan. I will give you the site where I know this. Also you can differentiate between the two. Good luck and insha Allah it will be easy on you. Peace.

The version by Mohammed Marmaduke Pickthall ( an English Muslim) is excellent.
