My answer is sorta! ::
If you nuke a whole uncracked egg it WILL EXPLODE! But you should put a whole egg in the microwave and find out for yourself!
But . . . you can butter a little dish, put eggs (and cheese?) in it, cover it and cook until you think they're done.

They explode! Boiling involves water. If you boil the water first, it takes between 4 1/2 and 5 minutes depending on what altitude you are at. Remember to prick the blunt end with a pin before lowering into the water. So why use the microwave?

I used to do this at the school canteen all the time. Wrap an egg in alfoil. Put it in a coffee mug and fill with water. Place it in the centre of your microwave for about 6 minutes on high (full power). More than one egg can be done at a time using a bigger bowl, but make sure it's placed on the centre of the microwave plate. Remove from microwave, take it out of the water and allow to cool or eat straight away.

You can't just put an egg in the microwave as is, it will just explode. Try the link below for microwave egg directions:

Crack it into a microwaveable cup/mug with a little butter smeared inside. Cook for 10-15 seconds and leave it in the cup for about a minute? nuke it just enough till the cup gets hot, then leave it (it will continue to cook) until you've got it as you like it, runny or hard whatever

You can't, it will explode.
Break the shell, dump it into a small m/w-safe bowl sprayed w/ Pam, and prick the yolk, too. Then nuke for 20-30 seconds. Flip over w/ a fork, nuke again 20-30 seconds. This is about as close as you'll get to boiled in the m/w.

haha i've tried this too...it exploded. lol. anyways, im pretty sure that if you crack it into a cup/bowl of water and cook it like that for like a min. or 2 it should be the same as poaching...i think that'd be the closest youd get to a boiled egg in a micro. good luck!

First, make sure you're wearing a shell-suit... (haha)
Personally. I wouldn't try it - you'll only end up with egg on your face & the yolk will be on you!
Oh, stop it!
I'll have a nice ham sarnie with a cuppa Earl Grey tea please, vincent. Cheers - see you shortly, then. (Hope you don't mind me calling you Shortly!) LOL!
