You will find your self dealing with many different personality types of people through out your life time. Having this experience now is better then when you are older and the consequences more sever. You can sit around and feel sorry for your self-see her harshness as a problem or you can see it as a challenge and rise to the occasion. Option #1 will get you the lower grade and option #2 will get you a better grade and increased coping ability.

Sorry to say it but you are SOL. Everybody has encountered these type of people. People who are very miserable in life so they take advantage of their position of power to make you miserable too. They say is perfectionism but in reality (at least in my opinion) what is going on is that they don't have much going on so they get ultra attached to what little they have. A funny thing is that this happens mostly to language teachers. I have taken various hard courses like differential equations, physics etc etc but none have been as demanding as language related courses not because of its content but because of the teachers attitude. So, just try to survive by doing the best you can and keep your mouth shut because no matter what you do you always will be wrong. SO, by keepiong your mouth shut you become less of a target. Know this however, that at the end of the day you go home happy while they go home misserable.

Ask the teacher for a copy of the rubric she uses to grade assignments. Be nice about the request, and tell her that you're just trying to get a handle on what you can do better to score better on assignments. That's what I do when students ask me about how to do better, and it nearly almost always helps them get better grades, by knowing what I'm looking for.

are you in middle school, high school or college? That would make this easier. However...nitpicking teachers recognize talent and think that badgering is the way to bring it forth. She has faith in you because you're bright....lean into the knit picking and learn!!!

She is a pefectionist, then clean assignment, clear handwriting, answer throughly (check spelling and grammar), and hope you wrote the write answer. The key is write notes when she talks, read the chapter, and always turn in work in a clean and proof read.

Stop whining and give her quality work. You shouldn't get an A unless your work is "outstanding". That's what an A means - not mediocre or just good enough.

Maybe the reason she is so hard on you is, because she sees alot of potential in you and really wants you to succeed.

IGNORE HER. she's just trying to push you so that you'll work harder. either way, don't worry about it, 'cause that'll just get you more pissed and unstable. also, i dont think that grades matter. (unless you get a D or an F.)
