Hi, Im 25 years old and since I was little I have had this phobia related to needles. I cant even hear the name cause I will get goose bumps and start shaking and get all nervous. Im having some health issues and havent gone to the doctor cause I know he´s gonna ask me for a blood test and I cant even do that. the last time I got one done was when I was so sick I was about to faint but besides that I stay as far away from needles as I can.
i really do need to get that test done so I can find out what´s wrong with me before too long, we dont have hypnotherapists in this city (Im in Colombia, South America by the way) and dont know what else to do, so Help!!!!!!!! Any advice ?

I am a Paramedic. I deal with people who have your fear all the time. The best advice I can offer you is to go have the test done. When they are about to stick you, Close your eyes and relax. If the person who is taking your blood knows what they are doing, you shouldn't even feel it. When you are relaxing, close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and think of something that makes you happy. I know this will be tough, but you have to get your mind off what is going on. I hope this helps.

Are you sure there are no hypnotherapists? Perhaps they have another name for them. That is what I used. I also had a terrible phobia since I was very young. I got cancer and had to have all sorts of needles, even to give myself shots when I was on vacation. I don't know that I could have gotten passed that without the hypnotherapy. I don't think I was "out", but how she described letting the adult take over for the child helped me a lot. I don't like needles, but I can handle them now. I have even given two other people injections. Prior to this, it could never have happened. I saw needles as a power thing, invading me. It was from a bad childhood experience I had.
