We know, that ALL democrats support military personnel, on paper, but do they put their money where their mouth is?

2007-10-20 13:51:22 · update #1

commonsense How dare you accuse me of caring less about a democrat soldier! And how dare you use my question as a platform! I'm reporting you for abusing my question in so many ways.

As usual people cannot answer a question because they have no answer that supports their party.

The military budget does not help families of soldiers who have died, it only supports soldiers when they are alive. I'm amazed at how many 'people' are now acting as if doing something for a charity is wrong. Disgusting.

amnestiswrong Actually, Limbaugh is a board member to the charity that helps families of soldiers who have died. And as far as stirring up trouble, the letter was the intent to stir up trouble for Limbaugh sponsored by Harry Reid and signed by among others Hillary Clinton. An attempt to mute the people who object to Hillary and Harry. That is taking away a precious right that everybody has, the right to free speech, an attempt to take away the rights by democrats. That is why this letter got so much attention. Democrats are now going to monitor the media and attempt to remove anybody who disagrees with them from their job working in media. You like the sound of that?

Rush is so wild. He is and always has been.

Harry Reid tried to tell the pack he was like responsible and so on... lol To donate millions to families of fallen heroes is something those folks have no idea about. When it comes to money they spend ours but surely, never theirs. SO much for "Giving" eh ? Bill ?

I can not resist. Read how Clinton supported the military.

What a bunch of BS. Rush is a loud mouth, know it all who would do anything to stir up more problems and create hate and discontent. If he was as smart as he thinks he is and wants people to believe he is why can't he do something to help our country rather than create further problems? I stopped listening to his radio shows a long time ago; he has an ability to turn a great day into a terrible day just by opening his mouth. People should stop listening to him; let the networks know we are tired of him and his loud mouth accusations, twisting of facts, partial truths, and hypocrisies. If he really wants to do something with the money (most of which comes fro other sources I am sure) he would do something for the families of the soldiers lost or permanently injured in the Bush War! It is not the democrats or the republicans but a lack of personal and moral strength on both sides that has brought us into this mess. Anyone who believes it is the fault of any single party needs to study the situation. The politicians, democratic and republican, support not what the country needs but what the big money people tell them to support. Want to blame someone, where does the buck start and where does it STOP: big money supported by the Bush Bunch!

Immoral and disgusting is how the democrats undermine the efforts of our brave men and women. I'm glad there are people like Rush out there that care enough to bring the hypocritical DEMS into the spotlight so real Americans can see how they are being lied to.

Can you only imagine if Billary gets elected. I agree with a previous poster - get out your bomb shelter plans. It's because of the liberal lazies that REFUSED to act during bills whoremongering admin. that we had 9/11 - America sat silent for 8 years while terrorists perfected their plot of destruction. Now we've had a MAN in the White House that takes no "bull" and it's been relatively quiet in these ole United States. I'm afraid that will all change once Bill goes back to slobbering all over the interns while Hillary again tries to run the country. She didn't do so hot the last time - O wait, was that her or Billy Boy doing the job? Hard to tell.

Dems only support the military on toliet paper, that way they can flush it, claim different opinions to each different crowd. I never listen to Limbaugh that much, sometime I thought he was right, sometime I thought he was wrong, but I know that no Dem will match his contribution. Limbaugh is the only one that I know of that would take a lemon and make lemonade.

People either like Rush Limbaugh or they do not but no matter how people feel there is one thing they cannot deny and that is, the guy is a savvy business man. He built his talk show into a national program that is heard by millions of people each week and he has many ventures that bring him lots of money. He is generous with that money and he makes sure that he gives to and raises money for the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation which awards scholarships to the children of fallen heroes.

Recently, Rush Limbaugh was misquoted in something he said on his program. Despite the fact that his morning update and the topic at hand dealt with one phony soldier, he was excoriated for using the words when they were taken out of context and when Media Matters, an organization Hillary helped found, made it appear as if Limbaugh was talking about all soldiers who disagree with the war, not just the ones who are truly phony soldiers. Interestingly, the very Democrats who are trying to bring our troops home in defeat, the very ones who refused to denounce Moron.org for talking badly about General Petraeus, jumped up to defend the honor and dignity of our troops. Harry Reid, the low life, scum sucking maggot, wrote a letter to the company that syndicates Rush Limbaugh demanding an apology, which the boss decided he was not going to do.

In any event, this was the Democrats talking about Limbaugh and trying to discredit him. They tried to portray him as anti troop and a bad guy. This is all part of a plan by Media Matters and the rest of the liberal groups to discredit and silence Conservative talk before the next election. One might have thought that Harry Reid had the upper hand and that he was going to make Limbaugh look like he does not support the troops but he underestimated Rush Limbaugh.

Rush took the lemons that Harry Reid gave him in that letter and turned them into lemonade. Rush has the original letter with the signatures of the 41 Senators who signed it and he is auctioning it off on eBay.
his auction is not to make money for Rush though because 100% of the money made from the sale of the letters will go to the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Fund. Rush is using the stupidity of Harry Reid to earn money for the very people Reid and the cretins at Media Matters want you to think he does not support.

Once again, Rush Limbaugh outsmarted the idiot Reid and Democrats. I heard that the Dems were not too happy about this but there is absolutely nothing they can do. Rush can do as he pleases with the letter and he is selling it. As of this writing the bid is up to $55,200(last I checked) which is worth more than the value of the 41 people who signed the dumb thing.

Way to go Rush.

Oh, so the only real way to support our military is to write a huge tax-deductible check now???
How dare you equate the lives lost in this terrible and fraudulent adventure to mere bucks from the wallet of a rich fatcat!!
That's exactly what got us into this mess in the first place- our so-called leaders putting rescuing the flagging profits of the military-industrial complex ahead of not only the lives of our citizenry but plain old common sense and morality!
Why am I not surprised that your attitude exists, given the stupidity evident in the office of the einstein you no doubt voted for.
But alas, I'm merely a poor, dumb, liberal, engaged in finding cures for diseases common to rich, dumb conservatives on the govt. dime.
Seeing as I'm not drowning in dollars raised by making up stuff on the radio maybe I can still support the troops from my skinnier wallet yet. I gave NPR $90 bucks yesterday -- If I can't support the whole military like Rush, maybe I can make a token gesture.
How much is a blown off limb worth these days?

You want to support our troops? Try bringing them home where they belong and never again using them like disposables.

Does this support include the support given by the families who have lost sons, daughters, relatives and neighbors to the BUSH war? This looks like another one of those situations where with enough money you can buy your way out of anything. Rush has a mental problem that does not allow him to think in terms of good - he sees only bad and attempts to get everyone else upset.

If they did, the dems who signed that letter in the first place would have also ponied up a matching sum but dems don't donate money. With dems, money is on a one-way street.

Ahem . . . . you've got it backwards.

The military exists on a temporary basis, for the purpose of supporting the citizenry, according to the US Constitution. A military budget of 67% of the total US budget is already a lot, don't you think?

Limbaugh is a $36 Million a year entertainer posing as a pundit. Who cares what he does with his money? The Military budget for 2008 was approved by the whoring Senate for $648 Billion. More than 50% of discretionary U.S. spending and more than the rest of the planet combined. Disgusting and Immoral!

the party lime of the democrats is to say they support the soldiers

but the military votes pretty heavily toward Republican based on who they feel really support them. In the infamous Florida recount, the Democrats drug their feet getting the military vote counted
