If having a family, it's wonderful to have a FAMILY name. Taking the husband's last name to accomplish that goal is not a problem, and in no way diminishes the wife's importance to the marriage partnership........the husband will never know the joy of giving birth or the closeness of nursing. Chosing to take on the husband's last name in order to have a family name is nothing compared to what the husband can never experience in carrying and delivering new life.
