Well, it's a good idea to find a good church. Make sure that it's doctrine is sound and the BIBLE is being preached. Take your time, and don't be too hasty. Finding the right church takes time. After that, the Bible says that you should get baptized. Now, you can be a Christian without being baptized, but that's not a very good choice. Email me for more information. You can tell your friends whenever you feel ready.

You start your Christian life with a prayer to God the Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Click on the Get Saved button @ http://web.express56.com/~bromar/ for more information on this subject.
As to finding a church and getting baptized if you lived near me I could make several recommendations for a good church to attend. As it is I can only tell you that you should find a church where the Bible is preached, the Lord Jesus is honored, and the Holy Spirit of God is at work.
In general, a good Baptist church or a non-denominational church like the one I attend is a good starting place. Some of the Presbyterian churches are still under the annointing of God and some have slipped into the realm of apostasy. If you go to http://sermonaudio.com/main.asp and put your zip code into the yellow box in the middle of the page it will give you some recommendations for a church in your area.
The next step is to find out when the services are held and put on some decent clothing and show up and see what happens. Ask the Lord to direct you to the church of His choosing and may He bless you coming and going in Jesus' name, amen!

How wonderful! I'd love to learn how you came to your decision. Why are you too embarrassed to ask your friends? If they are Christians as well, they will be happy to pray with you and talk to you about baptism.
Incidentally, becoming a Christian is as simple as speaking to God. Tell Him that you recognize that you have sinner and that sin separates you from Him. Tell Him that you know that there is nothing that you can do to atone for your sins and that you believe that the sacrifice of His son, Jesus, was atonement for your sins and you'd like to live for Him! Ask Jesus to come into your heart and make His home there.
That's pretty much it! Jesus comes in and He stays. Nothing can EVER separate you from His love. He never leaves and never forsakes... It's good stuff!
You do need to find a church home. I would think that visiting a few of your friends' churches would be a great place to start! Talk to the pastors there (start with a Youth Pastor - they can answer so many of your questions and relate to the place you are in life) and find out what opportunities you have to learn God's Word and grow.
I am so happy for you!! God bless you.

Don't be afraid to ask your friends about some things. It's they're there for and why they're called friends. I'm sure they would be overjoyed to hear this decision that you made. Go to church with your friends a couple of times and see if you like their denomination... there are many different denominations to explore in the realm of Christianity. (Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, Church of Christ, Non-denominational, etc.) Find the church that fits best for you. Do some reading of the Bible on your own to determine what you truly believe and find a church that has the same beliefs.
Hope this helped and you find a nice church home. God bless.

Finding a good church and other Christians to learn from is important. I would think that your current friends could be a source of help at a time like this - I'm not certain why you would be embarrassed to share your decision with them. I think they would be very excited for you.
Once you connect with a local church, let them know of your desire to get baptized and they can assist with that. It is an important step in the journey!
Congratulations on your decision and I sincerely hope you find a good church to become a part of!

Honestly, anytime is the right time.
Just say a simple prayer saying God, I love you, I need you. I need forgiveness for everything that I have done wrong, I want to be in Heaven with you. I am victorious in You! Amen
Start reading your Bible. And don't be embarrassed asking your friends to help you! They will be happy for you!!! and if the church that you're going to (soon) may be they have certain days that they do Baptisms, you can sign up!!! :D If not, just ask the pastor to do one! He'll/She'll be glad to do it for you!
:D I am happy for you!!! :D I go to an Assembly of God church it's great! But it's up to you! I'm praying for you!
God Bless and have fun!

Becoming a Christian means that you enter a RELATIONSHIP with God that will never end, because of what Jesus did on the cross for you.
I agree with the others that it's good to try out a few churches to find the one where you can sense the love of Jesus in the people there.
The following blog I wrote for a friend who started a relationship with Jesus. It might be a help in your daily walk with Jesus.

Personally, good for you. But be selective on your quest as far as baptism. Sometimes that fancy church you see is not what it appears to be on the inside. Find a church suitable to you.
And first lesson: Don't be ashamed to "ask" your "Christian" friends. Trust me. You have to start somewhere, yes? And going to a church where you have friends makes a person that much comfortable, true?
Good luck!

Have you said this Prayer believing with all your heart, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed that believing with all your heart you should feel a change within you. True repentence makes a change. Its not enough to believe in the head, the Holy Spirit has to be in your heart, As you said you are ready. I pray that you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, in Jesus name Amen. May God Bless YOU and use you for his Glory. If you truly got saved the Lord Jesus will guide you to the right church, the Spirit within you will tell you when its time to join one and be batized, remember Prayer and reading your Bible every day is more important than anything else. Time spent alone with Jesus is the best you can get. God Bless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
