both and more

I think it begins in the heart, but that it has to have an intellectual component too. Because Christians, like everyone else, are looking intellectually for this world and the universe to make some sort of sense that they can relate to.

So it has to be both, for Christians, I would think. I'm not one though, but speaking generally of most people I think this would be true for Christians too.

It's an event that begins in the heart. After we except Jesus into our heart, the knowledge from the Holy Spirit enlightens us.

I think Christianity serves its own form of intellectual enlightenment, since manny of the stories in the bible, are, I believe, metaphorical insights on how to develop yourself. The moral and ethical concerns raised in the book do seem to be aimed more at the heart, but any decision based on care and compassion ultimately come from the head.

Christianity is a "Spiritual Enlightenment" that restores the spirit, soul (mind) and body.

It does deal with the "regeneration" of the heart through "Rebirth" in Christ; He who is the Son of God incarnated into flesh and was the Final Sacrifice for all sin and the sin nature, reconciling the devolved human condition back to the Father.

Hence, Christ came not to establish a "religion", but to set the captives and those in bondage free.

But for an individual the regeneration of their heart cannot happen without accepting the Rebirth in Christ. Until this is done they remain in their "fallen" condition since birth and onto death.

Yea, right. It's the exact opposite. The the entire enlightenment movement in Europe was anti-religion. Christianity asks for blind faith, that's not intellectually enlightening at all.

I think it is a choice to believe in God. Not to be mean, but this sounds like something you should ask an Atheist, they seem to have an answer for all the questions. The first statement has nothing to do with Christians, we are more humble people than you think. God Bless

Man tries to understand God in his mind and convince his heart. God convinces the heart and the heart feeds the mind until we attain the mind of Christ.

Man's wisdom is foolishness to God. God's wisdom is foolishness to man.

Man believes God thinks like he does but is 100,000,000 times smarter than he is. God declares that His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts.

man asks God for an amplified version of the peace and joy the he experiences in wordly things. God gives us a different peace than the world gives and joy unspeakable (unimaginable, incomparible) to that of the world.

Man has fond thoughts of what heaven will be like. God says that no mind has ever seen or imagined what He has in store for us who love Him.

There is so much more that the Scripture teaches....I wish more people would pay closer attention.
