I want to know specific details on how humans will suffer the consequences of urban sprawl and pollution! My stupid friend hates the environment and wants the whole world to turn into cities. He sees nothing wrong with overpopulation and i want to argue against it!

The mistake you are making is that you are talking about broader issues and he is probably thinking about himself or basing his opinions on his own personal experience.
Nothing you can really do if we don't agree on a framework of debate.
The reduction of the marsh lands around New Orleans meant that Katrina was stronger than it might have been.
More people have respitory problems due to pollution.
Many areas like Georgia are facing severe water problems due to droughts.
I think your friend might be taking a reactionary position to enviromentalism, ie more political than actually based on facts.

Habitat destruction and animal extinction in the US directly affects us in many ways than one. We humans need the habitats, especially the trees that produce large supplies of the oxygen that we need to breathe. Also humans need animals as food for example fish. One thing to consider is that it might not be affecting you at the moment, but it will affect you sooner than you think. Due to global warming and ozone depletion, the earths state is going in a negative direction and habitat destruction and animal extincion will just add to it. The extinction of animals is a great loss to the planet earth because this planet among the billions out in the universe is the only known planet to carry so many diverse creatures of all shapes and sizes with unlimited possibilities.

that would be alot of concrete to lay. what about trees, trees produce oxygen. and the rain, if it is really polluted, what do you think will be in the rain, and the lakes rivers and ponds for that matter. all cities, means no veggies or cow and chicken farms. how would we eat. we need farms to survive.

if animals die.. then that's a source of food. and maybe they have some genes in them that may help cancer or something.. if overpopulation sets up, then carbon dioxide goes up and then we'll have VERY LITTLE AIR. What happens when a human doesn't get air? WE DIE.
