Wikipedia:
"Popularly, the fruit has been identified as an apple, although the Bible does not identify the fruit as such. Judaism teaches that the fruit may have been either grape, fig, wheat, or citron. In recent years, some researchers are supporting the fact that the forbidden fruit is actually a pomegranate,[citation needed] from the supposed location of the Garden of Eden. Most scholars have said that the type of fruit is not forbidden, only the fruit from the tree God had warned about."

No different. Eve ate the fruit first and sin had already entered the world, although both of their eyes were opened after Adam ate, bringing with it the knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 3:6-7. It is impossible to say exactly how this would have affected their relationship if Eve had sinned and had the knowledge of good and evil and Adam had not. For example, would Eve and not Adam have been evicted from the Garden?

From the Bible...We would all be perfect in mind and body and would never die.
Death cam about because Adam and Eve disobeyed God.
(Genesis 2:16-17) And Jehovah God also laid this command upon the man: “From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. 17Â But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die.”
Jesus sacrificed his precious life to get us back on track...with no death.
(Revelation 21:4) And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

The fruit is a metaphor, meaning to partake of the knowledge of good and evil, necessary to eternal progress, and had to be Adam and Eve's choice, and would affect all their descendants. Eve decided it first, than, out of love for God, for her and for us, Adam agreed to do the same. It was the best for all of us!
Since was their choice, Jesus Atonement paid for the law broken, so we own an infinite price to Him.Without that choice we would live innocent for ever, for sure, but without opportunities of eternal growth. For instance: Would you like to be forever like a spiritual baby, having no chance to become like your Heavenly Father ? If comparing to our life on earth, aren't you thankful for the chance, after maternal and kindgarden period, to be able go through elementar school, high school, Colledge and further studies as long as you want and can afford??? I'm thankful for Adam and Eve's choice so we could come to the schooling in this mortality, and grow in knowledge and wisdom, if we desire and choose it.

well i don't think it would have mattered. because god being omniscient and having a plan, that plan must be carried out. to not participate in that plan would be a sin, therefore, not to eat the apple would have been thwarting god's plan and just as sinful as eating the apple. he would have been expelled anyway. god's will must be done and all that.
how's my inverted loop hole ridden logic coming on. i'll soon be able to beat the english language to a pulp and extract any meaning from it i want with the best of them.

There would be no sickness, sin, or death. We would have a real close relationship with God. I think that all the people from the past ages would still be here. I think that we would all learn how to get alone. I don't think thatthe times would have changed for the bad. There would be no drugs, volience, or wars. It would be just the way God intended to be. God Bless!

if Adam and Eve did not eat 'the apple', I wonder if some one else would have and if it would have ended up the same anyways. I don't understand why God punish them [and all mankind] when they did something wrong before they knew the difference between the two.

There wouldn't be one. Adam and Eve would still be in the garden of Eden. They were thrown out and made to reproduce because of that sin.

Who said Adam and Eve ate an apple? If sin had not entered the world, no one would die, there would be no sin, and we would all be living in paradise as God planned from the beginning
