Definition: The belief that faithful Christians will be bodily caught up from the earth, suddenly taken out of the world, to be united with the Lord “in the air.” The word “rapture” is understood by some persons, but not by all, to be the meaning of 1 Thessalonians 4:17. The word “rapture” does not occur in the inspired Scriptures.
Who are the ones that will be ‘caught up in the clouds,’ as stated at 1 Thessalonians 4:17?

Verse 15 explains that they are faithful ones “who are left until the coming of the Lord,” that is, they are still living at the time of Christ’s coming. Will they ever die? According to Romans 6:3-5 and 1 Corinthians 15:35, 36, 44 (quoted on pages 314, 315), they must die before they can gain heavenly life. But there is no need for them to remain in the death state awaiting Christ’s return. They will instantly be “caught up,” “in the twinkling of an eye,” to be with the Lord.—1 Cor. 15:51, 52, RS; also Revelation 14:13.

Will Christ appear visibly on a cloud and then take away faithful Christians into the heavens while the world looks on?

Did Jesus say whether the world would see him again with their physical eyes?

John 14:19, RS: “Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more, but you [his faithful disciples] will see me; because I live, you will live also.” (Italics added.) (Compare 1 Timothy 6:16.)

What is the meaning of the Lord’s ‘descending from heaven’?

Could the Lord “descend from heaven,” as stated at 1 Thessalonians 4:16, without being visible to physical eyes? In the days of ancient Sodom and Gomorrah, Jehovah said that he was going to “go down to see” what the people were doing. (Gen. 18:21, RS) But when Jehovah made that inspection, no human saw him, although they did see the angelic representatives that he sent. (John 1:18) Similarly, without having to return in the flesh, Jesus could turn his attention to his faithful followers on earth to reward them.

The rapture is when Jesus comes back and takes His believers home...after that, there will be chaos and the anti-christ will be revealed and he will make peace with the all the world...there will be peace for 3 1/2 years, then domination for the other 3 1/2 (7 years of Tribulation) then Jesus will come again and with the word of His mouth bound the devil for a thousand years of peace and then the devil will try one more time and Jesus will destroy and send him straight to the Lake of Fire!

The Bible doesn't actually use the word rapture. But it is when Jesus Returns.. the bible says that the dead in christ will rise first (meaning the people who are already dead, bodies will go to heaven) and the the living christians will meet Jesus in the sky. The way the Bible describes it is tha two women are in a feild the christian will rise the non-christian will notice that she just disappeared. Hope that Helped Read Revelations and Pray God will show you.

The rapture is one of those horrible predictions, that will not happen. The future is not written in stone. A good God does not preordain the future, but leave it to man to take on the challenges of the world, and make it a better place. The ability to transform oneself, and one's world, to make it better through hard work and strong character, would not be taken away by a good and a moral God. God does not set a bad example.

The teaching of a Rapture is a true teaching. What is a false teaching is that the Rapture is a Secret Rapture and it is also false that the Rapture will occur before the tribulation.

This is the teaching for the Rapture:

"For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet, the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words." 1 Theselonians 4:15-18

To be "caught up" is to be raptured.

Is it a Secret Rapture? Well, the above speaks of Jesus descending with a shout, in the voice of the archangel, and a blast of the trumpet of God. You think that will go without notice? I think not. Also:

"And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?" Revelation 6:12-17

And, will the Rapture occur before the Tribulation?

"Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever, the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together. Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." Matthew 24:23-31

The word Rapture is not in the bible , in Latin or Greek it means to snatch up or take up . When Jesus comes back he will take ( rapture )his believers up to heaven while he reigns on earth for 1000 years.

People that have faith in Jesus, who are going to be rapture before Jesus returns to earth, just by believe and not of their works. After Jesus returns with a sword, there will be a tribulation and then the party begins and billions of people will be squished.

According to God's Word, Christ will return in the clouds and call up His church (all those who have been born again in Him). Then the 7 year Tribulation period will begin.

The Bible doesn't call this the "Rapture," but Christians have named it that.

God bless!

Bear in mind that a certain group of people have persuaded themselves that the world is going to end in their lifetime, and that this end is going to a frightening, horrible ordeal, full of pain and anguish and despair.

Now, imagine that you believe this, and someone offers you an escape hatch, by which you can escape all the unpleasantness.

There you have the rapture.
