Thomas Paine once said "The Christian religion is a parody on the worship of the sun, in which they put a man called Christ in place of the sun, and pay him the adoration originally payed to the sun"
There is much evidence that Christianity is Astrotheological in origin. There are far too many parallels for mere coincidence to explain away.
Example.. First of all, the birth sequence is completely astrological. The star in the east is Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky, which, on December 24th, aligns with the 3 brightest stars in Orion's Belt. [S60] [M] These 3 bright stars are called today what they were called in ancient times: The Three Kings.[S61] [S62] The Three Kings and the brightest star, Sirius, all point to the place of the sunrise on December 25th.[S63] [M] This is why the Three Kings "follow" the star in the east, in order to locate the sunrise -- the birth of the sun.[S64] [M] Please visit here for more info and do your research, http://zeitgeistmovie.com/transcript.htm

Please i am interested to know your thoughts about this information, do research and check it out, all references and sources are included at the link as well as the full text. Don't you think that its hard to refute the fact that all these parallels exist between astrological symbolism and christianity??

I realize that Dec 25 is merely the date assigned as Jesus birth date but it is interesting to note that the reason it was chosen is because that is also the date of birth for other gods such as Osiris, Horus, Mithras, who were also said to have been born of a virgin, etc etc

Absolutely true. Now there's a scholar who says Moses is really Ahkenaten. WOW!

Here's another short video (scroll to end) that shows the "halo" is actually a depiction of the sun.

Consider the similarities between Horus and Jesus. (Horus was Egyptian)

Also consider the numerous statues and paintings throughout Europe that show the virgin Mary sitting or standing on the crescent moon or venus with 12 stars around her head.

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!!!
I am happy that people do sometimes do research about this corrupted religion, and that this is not Gods religion but a man made one. I found this same information out before I converted to Islam. I did my research about Christianity and I felt so sick and hurt that this is nothing but a lie, But it was a blessing at the same time because I am a true follower of Jesus, Moses and the rest of the Prophets.
Did you know that Christmas was celebrated way before the birth of Jesus. It is a pagan holy day which they celebrate the ever last green tree and the celebration of the new SUN. This holy day lasted for a week or so similar to the "Christmas season". Its rediculous, and people follow blindly.
In the bible it tell people not to celebrated this heathenist holy day.

T. Paines opinions sound like bogus, you will have much more fun when you realize that much of the Christians beliefs exposed in the New Testament is built on very non-christians ideas like Gnosticism (Pauls letter show a lot influence of Greek thought and ideas borrowed from other non-judaic cultures) and Greco-Roman paganism (ex. the virgin birth)

Hello, Kelley:

You are correct that paganism was baptized into the early church. That includes Sunday (sun day) worship. Concerning Thomas Paine, he was just guessing, and Jesus wasn't born on Christmas, that was the birth of Tamus, born of Nimrod, way back in time.

Hell came from Greek mythology, another part of what God calls Babylon, who makes the nations drink of her wine--false doctrines.

There is a Bible code that God wants people to break because it orients you to the facts. See: http://abiblecode.tripod.com

The original christians did not follow these holidays. They were added by roman emperors to unite his people, the Christians and the pagans and in turn corrupted christian ways ever since. Read the Bible, God gave seven holy days, not the ones we use today, even the day of worship was changed by man not God. If you want to follow God's ways follow all of them.

Of course the practice of modern Christianity has ties to Pagan customs and traditions. For any of us to convince ourselves otherwise is just delusional.

I don't really think anything about it specifically. Although the astrology information is interesting, in my opinion.

It is obvious that Thomas Paine did not know what he was talking about. There is no way that a single star would ever lead anyone to a precise location. Furthermore Chrirst was not born on or even near December 25th.

Your info is all utter nonsense.

It is no secret that Christianity is sun worship in disguise. Even Constantine thought Christianity was sun worship.. Why do you think Christian defend Christmas?
