In Houston, riders aren't allowed to play their music on the bus. It's clearly marked up front and drivers will stop and ask you to leave if you can't respect the rules. If you refuse to leave, the Metro cops will arrive and arrest you.
I never had one issue with loud music in Houston...

All teenagers tend to be just a bit self-involved. They always have been and they always will be. They play music because that's what they want to do. We did the same thing a million years ago when we were teens. Well, we only had our car radios and transitor radios but we irritated the heck out of anyone within hearing distance;-) It's just what teens do. Everyone's taste in music, like our food tastes, is different. "...the worst watered-down 'R&B'" is just in vogue right now. Wait a few months and they'll be playing something very different but just as hideous;-)

I absolutely agree with you. Unfortunately, you'll never get this sort of thing banned because it would be impossible to enforce. As a mere Saturday traveller to town, I find it very irritating to be forced to listen to other people's 'music'. It certainly isn't my type of music and, to be honest, everybody seems to be listening to the same sort of banal tripe. OK, I'm the Victor Meldrew of the bus ride and, if I had my way, I'd ban most of the things that annoy me whilst travelling.
Wicked thought: How about concealing a pair of mini clippers about your person and snipping through their earphone leads???!!! He! he! he! No such chance ... but just a wicked thought, as I said!

You grow out of having to make everyone else listen to the music you like. It's an "everyone listen how important I am" teen thing. And yes, all people who play their music loud on public transport should be killed - and that 's an adult thing.

I get fed up with people who sit next to me with ear phones on.
I can still here the noise from them.
It will be banned like smoking was in public places.
Mobile phones will be banned.
Talking to your friends will be banned.
Am I the most miserable person to answer a question?
