Is it because they are growing up?

I'm a pagan but I never got involved with Wiccanism, it is just awful. Wiccans just want to be 'cool' and oppose the christians, but they're immoral and usually just attract the worse of the worst. Usually teens leave it.

I grew out of the christian religion.

A little knowledge of its past, destroyed its credibility for me.
But then i never believed in the first place......

People believe many things, believing or not believing in any religion is a choice.
You are wrong about growing out of Wicca. Many people remain loyal to their beliefs all their lives.

But It is true that the christian religions have seen the numbers in church fall, as older members sadly die. They are having trouble recruiting younger members. It seems many of us don't have time in our modern lives for church.
In some countries the church still has more control over the population.
But our world is changing, and religion must change with it. Or when we eventually head out into the stars, The religions that refused to change, will be left behind on our dying world.

Like Christianity, Wicca has many forms, as do other religions. If only the different sides of a religion could live in peace. Then different religions themselves might stand a chance to live together. Oh well it would be nice, but too many of the religious leaders at the moment see it as their duty to attack the beliefs of others just for being different.

People change, they might not need a religion for a while. If they go back to a religion, or choose another. It should be a choice

That's not as true as you think. I think what you are referring to are the one's who get into Wicca, at a young age, thinking it's cool... Many of those people do grow up, but they are still Wiccans. They just drop the glamour stuff (buying tons of crystals, wearing the robes in public - such as to work, the grocery store, etc - wearing pentacles and anything else they can that would show how Wiccan they are). A lot of them move on to the spiritual side of Wicca and dropped the wasteful advertisement of the religion.

There are very few I have known that left Wicca as they got older. I did, but I moved to Celtic Recon and now to Asatru. Wicca has wonderful teachings within it and is a beautiful path. But the others I know who were in Wicca when they were younger are still Wiccan now. I guess some go into it with certain expectations and leave when those expectations aren't met... and their expectations are usually outrageous, such as wanting something that defies natural law.

Because a lot of people get into it for the wrong reasons, especially if they are young. They quit when they discover they won't be able to fly or charm a boyfriend, or when they discover that it really doesn't make you cooler, or that pissing off your parents is not a good reason to stay in a religion.

People who have spiritual motivations for studying it, on the other hand tend to stay, although some eclectics grow disillusioned because of the difficulty in finding information and help beyond the 101 level.

Lots of the people who "grow out" of Wicca are the ones who never really committed to it in the first place. The ones you are speaking of usually turn to it out of rebellion or because they are misinformed about the nature of the religion. So the answer does not lie in Wicca itself, but in the people who choose to leave it.

I have met several people who have made a life-long commitment to Wicca.

Kids don't grow out of their religion. They grow out of the desire to look "cool" to others by being Rebels against "society". These kids only became "Wiccan" because of this. They don't get involved of the spirital side of the religion - they just call themselves Wiccan and dress to catch attention - gothic (although the true Gothic people did not dress like that, lol!). I'm sure if these kid's parents were Wiccan, they would rebel in other ways.

this ssounds pretty general how what do you base this on i doubt people who grow older grow out of their beliefs maybe they incorporate other beliefs along i don't call myself wiccan but certainly value wiccan practice just too tired to practice the rituals so i keep it minimal and so maybe others do the same as time goes on people develop theri own style of practice and noone can tell them this is wrong or they'll be banned from practicing like other religions

I would say that most Wiccans are content with their beliefs, not that many come out of it. Its a peaceful religion, worshipping nature, and far more evolved and spiritual than Jeebus and the bloodthirsty, judgemental sky entity.

Just my guess, but as we get older, we learn more and put more together of what we do know.

As the evaluation process goes on, we learn more and more till we make a decision to stay with a thing or idea or ideal or sever our ties with inaccuracies.

The work needs the fire, hammer, anvil and bath to be purified.

...but I have no idea.
