Many Christians claim all I need to do to be accepted is invite God into my life and heart. How exactly do I do this? Can someone provide a step-by-step manual. Also, how long will he stay, and will he bring gifts when he comes?

Ignore the Christians and try the course in miracles if you want a close personal relationship with God.

Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. Jesus will now send his Holy Spirit to come and live in your heart and guide you into all truth. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

God does not require an invitation, he/she is already in your life. If you want a stronger connection, you must work at it. I use meditation and mind-body exercises, along with diet, and an open mind to who God really is. I know God is moral and good, since I know God does not set a bad example. You can develop a picture of God, that works best for you, to do well in life, and contribute positively to a better world. God, being the good moral being he/she is, will appreciate your effort.

Romans 10:9-10
9 "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."

Yes your right it sounds simple. But if in your heart your are mocking God or truly love your sin and are not willing to give it up. God CAN NOT be mocked. It won't happen.

1) You need to know you are a sinner (this is not revealed by God)
2) " " " God is HOLY!! (he is not man but Creator- God)
3) You need to savior from your sins (you can't work your work to heaven) You can never do enough.) Repent (turn) of your sins and................
4) ....trust on Jesus as Lord and savior. Jesus is the ONLY one.
It is really simple.
Pray , pray, pray that Jesus receives YOU!!

Oh yeah the gift part..........He will give you a gift to minister to the body of Christ.

I don't know everything about God, but I believe that God is already delighted that you are making an effort to invite God into your life. You are already on a good start...why don't you try thanking God for the blessings in your life, like your family, friends, gifts and talents, etc? Once you welcome God into your heart, God is there forever. God has always been watching over you and waiting for you to welcome God. Read the parable of the Lost Sheep, and the Prodigal Son, both from the Bible. If it wouldn't make you uncomfortable, maybe try going to church with one of your friends. Christianity doesn't always have to be organized, though, so if church isn't your thing, that's okay, as long as you have faith in God and keep praying :) Good luck!

You sound confused.
There is only one God.
Know that he created you and he knows what you conceal and what reveal. Know that he is only One God who has no partners, daughters, sons etc. Know that he is the only master of the universe and everything in it. Know that he is the only ruling judge on the day of resurrection.
Talk to your lord, ask of him and bow down and prostrate to him. Ask him to guide you to the straight way, the way of those who earned his mercy.
Don't talk to Jesus(peace be upon him) He cannot harm you or grant you anything but talk to the one who created you.

Do you believe:
in the one True God
in the angels
in the Holy books (Torah, Gospel, Quran)
in the messengers
preordainment
last day
If you have belief in these Pillars you have a foundation.
Know that you must repent for your sins
know that you must worship him in everything that you do, meaning remember God much in your actions and perform good deeds seeking his pleasure in you.
Know that he sees you...He created you....And you will return to him.
The Noble Quran is true guidance from your Lord. Don't listen to what people say Read it for your self.
Peace be upon you

It is as simple as confessing that you are a sinner, and asking Him to enter into your heart. When you ask He answers. He will stay for the rest of your life provided you do not deny Him or tell Him to leave. God does not force any of us to accept Him, He gave us the free will to choose whether we want Him in our life or not.

I´m sorry your parents never brought you to church and taught you.

I can´t exactly tell you becasue I don´t know you so well. Besides, you might resent a person you never met giving you a manual on how to live your life.

Acts 2:21 says, "And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." if you are serious. Just say out loud that you want him to come in your heart and that you believe in him.

Many, many gifts. Maybe not the kind you would expect. Gifts such as, peace of mind or maybe the gift of giving, or maybe the best gift of all. He may allow you to enter into his kingdom for eternity if you get real. He may even give you the great gift of suffering for your sins before you die, so that you won't have to go to purgatory. Look it up.
