I would like to say "Yes"...
But then I would also have to chime in with that same "Yes" when this question would be asked:
"Should King David's fornication, and subsequent murder of the husband of the woman he committed adultry with be removed from the Bible?"
2 Samuel 12:9 "Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon."
What of the incest of Lot's daughters? Shall it be removed as well?
Genesis 19:32 "Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father."
And that was AFTER Lot had offered these same two daughters as a sexual sacrifice up to a violent homosexual mob who sought to rape his house guests?
Genesis 19:8 "Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof."
As soon as the hypocrisy of the "Jesus Club" tells me it is ok to remove those verses from the Bible, then I am all for removing the gay wizard from the Harry Potter series.
We as Christians can't have it both ways! We either live by this verse:
John 8:7 "So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."
Or we can go down the TBN/Daystar/SkyAngel/EWTN route of two-faced heresy and continue to talk the talk, and refuse to walk the walk...
I know my answers are always hated, and the majority of "thumbs-down" come from my fellow so-called "christians" (Notice I didn't capitalize the C for that group of so-called believers) but that is ok! The anger and the thumbs down tell me I am hitting a sore spot... :-)

I don't have children yet, but I really don't know what I'd do. I feel that this is a sad way for Rowling to try and get more attention. I really was not shocked by this, and figured that something of this nature would appear. However, I guess in the end, I'd have to say that if I would have let my children read the books all this time, I really couldn't say, "Burn your Harry Potter stuff!", and be fair.

If you've ead the Harry Potter series you know there's nothing in them that encourages children to participate in witchcraft. they don't even discuss magic as being real....they are simply put a very entertaining, imaginative set of books for children. and yes I am a Christian. there are a number of people in my church who have read and enjoyed the series.

I'm not worried about the books. I am, however, a little worried about whether or not Rowling is just trying for publicity. I have absolutely nothing against homosexuality but using it as a "hot button" is cheap.

that's fake doctrine to think of that we can't quickly do the pastime of The Holy Spirit, and you're placing your self and your babies up for lots frustration in case you suspect that. All Christian dad and mom want their youngsters to instruct out astonishing, and to be good Christians. yet there's no assure which will take place. youngsters advance up and make up their own minds. you would be unable to cause them to become Christians, and you are able to't convict them of sin. You pastime as a Christian parent is to instruct them approximately God, to offer a Godly occasion, to have sparkling rules and rules, to be consistent, and to love them unconditionally ~ despite in the event that they advance up and reject your ideals. Your relationship with them is greater important than something. savor your babies, and enable them to savor you. loosen up, and positioned them in God's palms. do no longer freak out and picture each and every thing is as much as you. God can advance them without you if he so chooses.

I don't have children, but I can say that yes I would. I have friends that are homosexual. I am not going to deny someone friendship and love because of their sexual preference. Sure, it is a sin, and sure I don't personally agree with the lifestyle, but God still loves the homosexual, and we are taught to love everyone, not just people that abide by the Lord. To be a Christian and say that you follow God, and then lump an entire group of people together and dislike them because of their sexual preference is a contradiction.

I give up which books are you talking about?
But in general no I would not stop any one from reading something because it was written by a gay person.

Please do prevent your "christian" children from reading these. It'll give them good cause to run firmly away from your faith when they are out from under your control.
