If it's someone you are not going to be around for long, just stick it out as best you can. You have nothing to gain by being the one to tell them that they need to see to their hygiene.

But, if this is someone you'll be with on a regular basis and their odor is difficult to tolerate, simply tell them.

"I know you've been working very hard today and we don't have shower facilities available here, but your odor is offensive. Please take measures to be sure you can manage the problem in future."

What else can you do?

If they are a stranger it would be hard to tell them without them getting offended. I would just leave it to the person's friends and family to tell them or maybe you could say, " I hope this doesn't sound offensive but..." or " I don't mean to be rude, but I think some people are thinking that you could maybe use the shower", I really don't know how else to put it but I think they would be grateful you told them maybe, but make sure to say it as nicely and unconfrontational as possible. Say that you are telling him or her out of care or concern.

However, what if she or he onlys smells to you? Maybe she has on perfume that you maybe don't like the smell or something. In that case, just find a different spot where you don't have to be next to her. If you have to, just say "wow, you've got the new perfume on, that's nice. However, honestly, I think it's a little much". you can never really offend someone if you're nice to them and your intent is purely innocent concern.

Very nicely and politely, and just the two of you. But tell them!!

I wish someone had told me I smelled bad two years ago. I had a life-threatening disease and everyone was too "polite" to tell me I smelled bad. I found out the hard way, in the hospital, almost too late. I wish someone had been "rude" and told me.

How about you talk to them for a while and then(discretely so they don't feel bad) say 'Iam sorry to tell you this, but Iam doing this because I think we are friends and I would rather tell this to you than have someone you don't know say it to you in harsh way,I don't mean to sound rude but you are carrying and odour, and the scent is beginning to rise,I just thought you would like to know, and Iam not trying to disrespect you at all.(and then smile)

I would just let them know in a nice manner, and don't be rude...

Once at summer camp years ago, one of our cabin mates smelled so bad. she just didn't use or maybe forgot to use her deoderant. so one day, when we were all in the cabin, i jumped down from my bunk and told everyone "Deodorant PARTY!" and the rest of the girls grabbed their deoderant, along with smelly girl and applied it and danced around and acted silly." now you probably can't do that at school. Maybe slip a bar of soap into her bag.

but you should let them know... maybe they don't know that their BO is offending others.

My husband had that problem at his job. So he bought the guy some deodorant.

The best thing to do, if you can, is to move away from that person.

i'd be very careful about who you'd say something like this to because it could come back to hurt you if they are your freind the easiest way would be saying hey did you hear about htis great cologne or i found this great body wash etc.
