Jumping rope burns 1000 calories an hour and uses many more muscles than other forms of exercise. The rope costs about $5.00 and the action requires little space.

Seriously, I NordicTrack on the original motorless model. Because it requires movement of both legs and arms, its action has a rhythm that helps me breathe deeply and regularly, and it is available in any sort of weather at any time of day or night, it is the best for me---and might be for you!
