ok...so i have called my vet! he doesn't seem concerned, even "offered the morning after injection" which i felt was inhumane since she will only be pregnant 63 days. he thinks she will be fine but may need a c-section. i just wanted advise from animal luvrs who may have been in the same situation. the "father is also miniature weighing in @ 20lbs full grown, mother weighs 10lbs"

Dachshunds can run into problems with deliveries when the male is larger than the female. Because of this, I take great care when choosing who to mate. Because of their long backs, carrying puppies from a larger male can cause undue weight stress on their back. We should always be trying to protect their backs, many dachsies have back problems later in life due to things that were done while younger, as well as being overweight. I would take great precautions with this. The vet is right in saying that a c-section may be warranted, but there may be other issues to be concerned about as well. You may want to get a second opinion.

more than likely she will have very serious complications. It may even be a life and death thing if yo allow her to carry the pups. You have every reason for concern and need to get her to the vets as soon as possible.

No, she will have major birth complications. The pups are gonna cause some serious issues, if they even live. It may be best to abort them now. You need to have your furkids spayed and neutered...

Take your girl to the vet.

if you are so concerned, why did you not have your dog spayed before?

if you let her have the puppies, she will more than likely need a c- section as the puppies will be too big.

please have your dogs spayed and neutered and then you wont have to worry.

NO! The pups will be much too big. Take her in right away to be spayed. It is the humane thing to do.

If you're so "concerned" why haven't you consulted your VET instead of asking unqualified strangers who haven't even seen her?
