I don´t want to enlighten you just explain.
We don´t believe the two to be physically separate.
The Israelites built an ark of the covenant as a dwellinglpace for God. For lack of material, they placed in a tent. Later, King Solomon built the temple of Jerusalem to house it.
After that, God chose Mary as His new dwelling place as Jesus was born.
Today we have the Eucharist, the Body of Christ - it is present as the centerpoint of every church ("behold I dwelll in the Tabernacle as the King of Mercy"). We too become a "tent" for God, as we accept the Eucharist.
When a person takes a medication, it can disseminate to reach every corner of his body in minutes to have its effect where it is needed. How much do we receive, then, if we take the Eucharist.
And having recieved so much, we also have to thank Him through prayer and good actions an words towards others - ¨gratitude will follow with new rewards because a person who does good to another likes to see himself kept in correspondence¨.

God is spirit - not a physical being the way we are...
We are spiritually connected with God in faith - our heart, mind, soul - and that is what lives on after our bodies die.
When we don't follow him it grieves him, and when we realize that we are away from him and do things that separate us from him - our hearts and spirits are grieved too (or should be).
Our problem is that we are broken and flawed... and that separates us from a perfect God. Who loves us unconditionally and more than we can imagine - but he can only have a personal relationship with us if we give our lives to him in faith and allow his spirit to work and live in us. It's true, it happens.
So we fall short, and he forgives - and he also teaches us and shows how to be more like him - compassionate, loving, generous... and we have this because Jesus paid the price for our sin, and we have the promise of eternal life through his sacrifice.
The only thing God yields to, according to Bible, is the prayers of those who love him. That is how much he loves us!
He is affected by our prayers, and he cares if we are living opposed to his order of things - because it harms us - and he loves us to much to leave us alone in that.

i am going to answer this question with help of the holy ghost. we affect god in every way. when you open your eyes, what the first thing that comes out your mouth. sometimes nothing. if i don't or others don't you about the salvation of god, your blood is in our hands, surely by now you have been witness by other Christians, letting know about Jesus Christ. let me says this with the writing i am to you. just read there was a man that was walking Thur the park and he came to stop where there a stand where people's can sit down OK, so the man started to say man and woman, i am here to prove to you that there is no god, and how am i gonna prove it simply by asking him or telling him that i will give 5 minutes to take my life away. so the clock started to click down i minute pass be, 2 minute, pass by and he yell out to the people's, i told you there ain't a god, so 3 minutes, pass by 4 minutes, pass by and it about 4 minutes and 59 seconds pass by, and again he said what i tell you no god cause i just gave him 5 minutes and nothing happen, sudden there was a old lady crossing the street and she headed toward the man and asked him a simply question if your son had a knife in his hands and he asked you daddy or mommy would you take my life away. the man said no! that the same way god is with right now because he love you very much he died for you in the cross god bless you

Well you see, we affect God every time a new question arises that challenges the existence of God. Religions change to provide an answer for everything, many people argue subjectively by saying "God is in your heart" and "God wants you to do the right thing, but he won't stop you from doing bad things"

We affect God by not doing his will.
God is spiritual and powerful. We have a choice to live of the flesh (doing things of the world and not of God) or live in the spirit (to have faith in God and do his will. When this is done, then you would see and experince his word manifest, that it has power)
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR HIM?
God is not a genie in a bottle, he waiting for you to follow him, not what you want. He knows your needs and wants but seek him first and those things that you need will follow.
DO THE WILL OF GOD
You need to find a home church, be obedient, follow his word, be baptized with the holy spirit, show your self approved and do the will of God (Mark 16: 15 - 18)

Well, He created this rock, so my guess is that He personally cares about it and us. Can't say why. Probably the best thing He could do is to knock the earth out of its orbit and hurl it directly into the sun. All problems solved.
Eternally.
As to "how" do we affect God, I'd say not at all. If anything, I'd say we're just pissing Him off more and more, hence my previous comments.

We are connected thru our souls. God knew us before we were in our mother's wombs. The love God has for us is in us along with the Holy Spirit(if you have been baptised) He is affected by our sins, thru our times of troubles, and our times of joy, He is there right beside us

Excellent point! Bravo! God is the All Merciful; God’s Forgiveness hath preceded All Creation.
Sound reasoning. God is independent of all His creation. We the Created (notice the capital on us because we were created as Sacred beings) are conversely dependent on Him.

We can put a smile on God's 'face' or a frown with our accions, His Will and Plans will NOT change.
