In a word? Yes. Vanity is a "sin" because it detracts from our true purpose in life - to please God, not men (or women). God is not concerned with how we look. After all, when you hit 50 and gravity takes over and everything heads south, your physical appearance will be of little consequence when compared to your mortality.
My husband used to get upset when his jet black hair started to turn grey. I thought it was very attractive, but he could not be consoled. Then he started to lose his hair. Ha! ha! Puts things into perspective, does it not? Anyway, I still love him, regardless of what he looks like. I love him for WHO he is.
Will people love you for who you are, or what you look like? Do you love yourself only because of how you look? Or are you cultivating qualities that will make you lovable when your physical appearance begins to deteriorate (as it surely will)? Whose approval are you seeking? God loves you regardless of what you look like.
PS What, exactly is the feature on your face that you are preoccupied with? Just curious!

The main thing that our good and moral God wants is for you to positively contribute to society. You must decide what actions are important, to making the world a better place and, which are not. Looking good, could open doors for you to be more effective at helping others or being more productive, Or it could become a wasteful obssesion. Meditate or prayer on the issue. Diet, exercise, and spiritual practices, should be helpful in building character to be more effective in this quest to do good.

From a technical, by the book type, answer - if a person has lost control to anything that prevents them from continuing being an involved member of their family and larger community - they are sinning.
To only build and play with RC cars to the exclusion of chores/family and community - and to be out of control of ones emotions about RC cars - that person is sinning. Same with personal appearance.
BUT if a person is in control and not lost - then they are not sinning. Personal hygiene is important - wanting to be noticed by a person of interest is important powerful stuff.
Talking to Mom, usually corrects problem of worrying about body parts, and age, and desires. Remembering that there is someone out there for everyone helps. I will not cut off a body part to be with anyone, nor puncture it or apply ink. I like me, and someone else will too eventually.
P.S. your probably perfect - but can't believe this when told. You will in time.

I am not sure where you are going with this...it is a sin to be vain and shallow about your looks...but if you are a teen and have a large nose or small eyes,,or your mouth is too thin or too thick....you need to get over it....no one is perfect and if you change that nose,,,you may not look like your family any more...be proud of the way you look...your Heavenly Father, thinks you look just fine. It is the individual features that make us unique...You don't want to look like everyone else..

Yes because the true beauty of a person is what is inside. Accept who you are and be thankful you were born healthy and able to enjoy life. Work to make yourself a beautiful person inside and the outside will fade away in your mind :)
And remember that anytime you are obsessed with "anything", it is taking you away from time with God and others. We all have what we see as flaws in ourselves but most others don't even notice because when you smile and greet them with a loving attitude, make them feel comfortable, that is all that is important to them.
God bless you

Its called conciet. Looks only last fora while. and when theyare gone. they are gone.
So don't be concerned about how you look. because any one day you out and about. could ruin it. even in your self conceit. you may find it is a curse.
Because you will want to keep for as long as you can. but one day it could be gone in a second.
Do not pride your self on your looks. because even your pride. may backfire.

I would not consider it sin, unless you are judging others by your looks. We all go through times of being self concious of our looks, this goes away with time.

Beauty is only skin deep. It's what's on the inside that makes you truly beautiful.
