replacing clutch with new clutch kit got my clearance to remove transaxle, got transaxle detached, now i need to know how to get the metal ring around the boot of cv joint to tranny, not familiar with fwd cars, please tell me how to remove metal ring.

You need to get a manual before going any farther. Go to your local parts store and buy one, or go to the library and copy the pages out of the manuals they have there.

The thin metal ring only holds the boot on the shaft, the boot only holds grease in place. Removing the boot will not remove the shaft from the transmission. You have to remove the shafts to remove the transmission.

And since you've already admitted you're not familiar with FWD vehicles, you need a book to get the correct procedures and torque specs for everything as you reassemble it. Not doing so can be VERY dangerous.

like mark says you need a manual on it,you cut the metal ring off the old cv joint boots,they give you new ones with the new boots,but honestly you should buy a replacement axle for it,their better and they come with a warranty,yours may seem ok for a while,but in my experience with them,they will give problems later on,its up to you though,but expense wise,it will save you money and time to replace the whole thing now while its out,and get a manual on it,there really helpful,good luck on it.

You are suppoes to remove the axles first.
