Cockapoo Question?

When I bought this dog the breeder told me it was a cockapoo but I think she look more like a shitzu what do you all think

Looks like a cockapoo to me. This would be a F1 first gen.
These are the kind you want. Cockapoo to Cockapoo - F2 second gen. and you will get some that look more cocker, some more poodle. Sometimes people breed back to poodle or cocker then you get into F3 and F4.
I know about these dogs because my grandmother loves them and has had them all her life (as long as I can remember) While they are a mixed breed, Cockapoos are not like these other fad 'designer' dog mixes - they have been around for a very long time (the 70's is when they really started gaining popularity) and there are reputable breeders out there who are devoted to them.

That dog is, well certainly looks like, a shitzu. I have a cockapoo myself and she and your dog don't look anything alike. Your dogs legs are too short and so are the ears. Most cockapoos have their tails bobbed, and your dog doesn't. I don't know what that breeder thought that she was a cockapoo.

For any one that answered a cockapoo is a mutt, not a purebred , no reputable breeders breed mutts . If you want a mutt adopt one. Justin your "dog" looks like a mutt from a back yard breeder thats it .Not a "cockapoo" or a shih tzu a mutt. You get what you pay for!

I know what you mean. My mom and dad got what the breeder claimed were pure bread cockapoo's and one looks like a cocker and the other looks like a poodle. Doctors never even think they are brothers. I persoanlly think you're is too young to tell- Thats the problem with hybrid dogs yeah never know what they will look like.

We had a cocker/poodle combine for 14 years. My son's first complete sentence used to be "Get down, unhealthy puppy!" as Buddy attempted to scouse borrow meals from the top chair tray. My Mother needed to positioned a lock at the fridge door on account that he might open it in 30 seconds flat while there used to be meat in there. That puppy could not wait to visit the park on account that he ran up and down the slide till he used to be worn out and each little child desired to pat him. I pass over Buddy. All dogs are hard, you simply must be organization with him and permit him understand that you simply imply it. Watch Cesar the puppy whisperer on National Geographic channel, he has a few quality recommendations. If you place the time in, and take him to dog-ok / obedience tuition you're going to have an first rate puppy. Make definite that the little child involves elegance with you in order that they understand how to act across the puppy. Best of success.

My friend breeds cockapoos and hers look like that the male is a white poodle mom was a black cocker . Did you see mom and dad when you got your puppy? and why would they lie? Even if it was a shihpoo ? Now I can see if it was a full breed dog and it got mixed to lie but if it is already a hybrid they have no reason to lie

It doesn't look like a shitzu to me. There faces are sqashed and there hair is alot longer. No that is not a shitzu.

I agree -- looks more like Shih Tzu to me, than Cocker and Poodle. Very cute :)
