We have 3 cats. 2 of them sound just like yours -- they can't seem to get enough of our attention! Sometimes it drives us nuts because they always seem to have to exactly where we are. Our other one (the youngest) doesn't really want much to do with us unless it's on HER terms. Some cats are more like dogs than others. It just depends upon their breed and their personality.

I have a shop cat that does the same. The building is about three hundred feet from a busy road. So, I am very glad she stays by my side. I've been told she will grow out of this. When we got a second shop cat, she slowed down, but still fallowed me some. Now she is older, and seems not to be as fast and active, so when she wants to be next to me, I have to travel a tad slower. I love it. Just be careful she/he don't get spooked and dart out on the street.

Awww. That is so endearing. You must ask someone to videotape these trips for memory's sake.
I only know of one cat who also gets taken for a walk because she meows on the door until you take her out. She is very much cherished and loved by her owner. She has a favorite antic of climbing trees, poles etc, as if saying see how high I can climb when there is danger around. And yet she doesnt get stuck and climbs down when asked. When back down on terra firma, she waits for words of praise.
There are smart cats everywhere and you are a lucky owner of one!

Yes! I was living on 26 acres and would go for a long walk on the trail and my cat would come every time, even when she was so pregnant that she had her babies the next day! She would lay down and pant and pant so I'd have to wait for her because she'd be jetting up trees! I had another that would follow me everywhere and gently tackle my ankles when I walked, which was annoying yet endearing at the same time!

Some cats just have mannerisms closer to a dog then a cat. My husband had a cat like this...he loved her :)

Yep, Georgia does, but if we go near the house where the "bad dog" lives, she turns around and goes home.
In the summer, she spends most of her time on the next door neighbor's back porch. She gets lots of attention from them.
