I've been a size 7 in womens for about 4 years. They've suddenly grown to a size 8, which isn't much of a difference, but they are so wide. I can't fit into my favorite heels anymore! I'm scared they'll grow bigger. Is there anything I can do? (Other then surgery) And is it true your feet can grow when you're pregnant?

Sometimes your feet grow and spread from weight gain which is why they often do this during pregnancy. There's not much you can do about this.

The reason your feet might grow if you're pregnant is that they are spreading out to better support the extra weight. As far as I know there aren't any ways to stop your feet from growing, but I know that weight is definantly a factor.

Also if you've been wearing loose fitting sandals all summer and are just now switching back to more confined shoes, they can seem really tight at first because your feet will have spread out.

More exersize will also do it, if the muscles in your feet are healthy and toned they will be bigger (when I broke my foot it was shrunken and drastically smaller than my other foot because of disuse).

This probably isn't what you're looking for, but I hope it helps.

Losing weight to make your feet smaller works the same way it makes your waist smaller. Obviously you can only lose so much. You will only lose TOPS 1- 1/2 size of shoe- and you would have to be REALLY over weight and go to normal to do this. I lost 50 pounds and I did not go down a shoe size. I did have a pair of shoes that were tight, and then were then "normal" afterward- but you would really have to be very obese for it to make a difference.

If you wear flip flops and other open-toed shoes a lot, your feet tend to grow faster because they have more room to grow.
