especially in california, where white is minority( 45% total and 30% in teenager). only 9% students are whites, 50% schools and classes without one white student, considering california is most open and liberal states.
Just tell what you think and possible reason, don't simple label as racist. Teachers comments are welcome.

most california public schools is that way( LA, SF, SD, SCA metro, except somewhere around eureka, chico small cities.

There are two sides of america, we can see people trend to integrate and mix, otherside, some go to segregated because some feel uncomfortable when they immerse into all new immigrants ocean because they are minority and alien in their home country.Most people like white, so the school try to allure white students to their school and balance race.

I've worked as a teaching assistant for 23 years. I never look at what color the children are. Once a parent said to me that her child and another child were the only white children in the class. I never knew and told her that I never realized it or cared. It's all according to how the school district is zoned.

What? I live in california and my public school was 80% white and practically every other school around me was the same way.
