so my guniea pig melody just died.

i wasent even home to say good bye.

this just made a bad week worse.

my room looks so empty without her.

poeple say she was just a rat but she has been there for me a for a really long time.
since about 7th grade.

she was there to watch cartoons with me when i had mono and no one else was home.

she was so funny when she would run around her little house like she was a race car driver.

she loved to be with people.

when you would walk by my room all you had to do was say squeerks and she would go nuts.

i rember when i first got her the lady at the store said she was a boy..then she had babies lol

yea she was a pet..but to me she was more..she was a friend

and she is gone now..just like that..

no good byes
no second chances
just gone

R.I.P.
Melody Anne 2005-2007

idk how to get over her death.

everyone else seems okay...i cant help but cry myself to sleep every night.(its been 2 days)

oh thats so sad .. I'm sorry ta hear about melody! i know how you feel .. animals can love you just like people do ... prolly more an even better sometimes! i agree they are just like family in most cases! and it hurts just as bad as if they were human! animals give such unconditional love .. thats why the bond between a pet and you can be so strong .. they love you no matter what! you'll just have ta give yourself some time ... and if you feel like cryin' .. go ahead .. thats part of grieving.

it might take awhile .. but things will get better .. i know you are upset that you wasn't there with her when she passed on .. but I'm sure she knew that you loved her all the same! I was thinkin' maybe she waited till then so you wouldn't have to see her go. over time i think you'll look back an actually be able to smile when you think about all the good times you had with melody! just remember .. shes in a better place now ..and i'm sure melody wouldn't want you to be sad forever .. she'd want ta see you smile again too!

take care ..

awww. That is sooo sad. I have a guinea pig and I love him so much! He just makes me smile. People always call him just a rat, but he isn't! I'd be so sad and cry too if that happened to me. You do have to understand that guinea pigs don't live for a very long time, even though it's hard. Just put a small picture of her up in your room and she'll always be there. Just think about the funny times you had with her and I'm sure you'll laugh about it. I hope I helped somehow. Good luck with everything. I don't know if getting another pig would be an option for you or if that would make it worse. I know I wouldn't want to get another one. It might make you more sad. I hope you feel better soon. Melodie is in a good place right now. Don't worry.

You're asking us, the nameless face of the web, in case your animal is useless...I'm sorry however that is simply...ridiculous. Take the guinea pig's frame to a professional vet. They'll be in a position to inform how ancient it was once, as good as what he would have died from (a necropsy, like an post-mortem, will probably be in a position to disclose the motive of loss of life). Guinea pigs continue to exist usual five-7 years while cared for correctly, however are normally field to breathing infections, bladder stones, melanoma and center illnesses.

I am not saying get another and forget her but maybe if you can get another one. I had two but since Truffles died I just have Squeakers she gets very lonely often so I make time with her every day it has been a month today and I am missing a loss but you know what I will all ways love her and squeakers and I will never forget Truffles. Yes many called my piggies rats and hamsters but I have said there is a difference their personality and they are adorable. Have a wonderful day. :^)

I am so sorry that your pet died. It is always sad to have that happen. My daughter's kitten was hit by a car two Halloweens ago. She cried for days over that cat. Eventually she moved on, but it takes time. Try to remember how your pet lived rather than how he/she died. It helps.
It has been said that pets will often run away to die or die when their owners are not around, because they don't want you to see it. Maybe it will comfort you to know that your pet was thinking of you when she died. I'm sure that she was very grateful to you for having given her such a great and peaceful life. Just remember how your pet lived. You will never forget her, but you will learn to live without her.

I am so sorry your beloved pet died.My cat died when I was away on holiday so I know how you feel.
Don't listen to the people who say she was only a rat-they all have their own little personality's and as long as you know and remember the happy times you had together that's all that matters.
You will be sad for a while but eventually you will move on.
Just remember you gave her a great home and life!

I dunno if this can help but I can absolutely understand how you feel...
I have a guinea pig too, and she is my best friend...And I don't want to lose her...
But everything and everyone have an end...
It's not easy to get over it but as time goes by you will be able to...
You could get a new guinea pig. This will replace her, at least partly... It will never be the same as her but it will remind you of her, and it will be a new friend for you!

And by the way...Of course she wasn't just a rat...She was a real friend for you, and she was there whenever you needed her...

My guniea pig died last month and i was crying for a week i went over to a friends house and when i came home she was dead my parents didn't call or anything but i relized that she was getting old (almost 2 years) and it was just her time. i had got to keep one of her babies so i still had a guniea pig to help me get through it all.

I'm so sorry! You really loved her, and thats great. There are millions of pet bereavement sites online, where you can chat about her, put up a memorial for her, etc. You'll be okay. It'll be hard for a while, because you love her so much, but better days are coming.

I lost my hamster named Bella this year and I cried too. People say it was just a rodent, but they don't love them like you do because they are kind of like your child- you care for them, love them, play with them, etc. My room seemed really empty without her cage too, but she is in heaven now so its okay. Just remember that Melody is okay now and she had a really good life with you.
