Oban is beautiful, you can get a ferry to the isle of Mull from oban and visit the monestrt (monks still run it) and can catch a train to Fort William and see the beautiful scenery on the way and Ben Nevis in the distance. I loved the fresh seafood stall on the bay at Oban, the food was fantastic and just caught, you can visit the whisky distillery in Oban and the nightlife (the few pubs) is really homely and the locals were lovely, do not ask for lemonade in your whiskey though, I did and got a loud 'No', they gave me a dribble of water instead! Love oban, beautiful and laid back.

I have no wish to be rude but I am always surprised when I read questions such as this. As a simple exercise I "Googled" Oban and there are in excess of 3 million pages to view. No doubt many are irrelevant or repetetive but I am sure that you could have found an answer to your question. As an aside, I visited Oban many years ago and found it to be a pleasant Scottish town but not the sort of place that one would visit for a rootin' tootin' holiday.

Sea life centre
Trips to Mull - duart castle, torosay castle (a house with lovely gardens & railway), tobermoray - distillery and chocolate factory.
Wildlife tour of mull
Also try to get to Iona, Staffa, Treshnish Isles.
Fort william, caledonia canal, loch ness are not far away.
If you have time, get out to Barra too.
Mull is a large island with tiny roads. Most are single track. You stand a good chance of seeing otters, eagles, deer, many birds. East mull is often rainy, cos of ben mor. West mull is much sunnier.
