he sit's there and acctually makes list's of what to look up. i understand is nice but is it normal to spend so much time on it?

No its not normal. Did you happen to notice what kind of videos he is looking at? There are some that are of an adult nature.

Is this his first time on it? I know when I first discovered something new on the internet (youtube, wikipedia, facebook), I would spend hours on it in the beginning. Then the fanaticism would die down, until I found something else to spend hours looking at.

As long as he has nothing else to do and isn't putting important things off on a regular basis, sure, its okay. Just make sure to pry him off once in a while and do something between the two of you. Who knows, he may break up with you for his favorite video.

Well the truth is everyone usually gets addicted to something in there life...lol Just be happy that it was something illegeal. If you really hate it and cant deal with it anymore try talking to him about it and see if he can cut it down alittle bit.

How long has he been on Youtube? Did he just start going to it? If he did thats pretty normal (I did that when I first found out about it)

I have the same problem. It is completely harmless. Talk to him about lowering the time but don't make a big fuss about it, he could be doing worse things. You can also jump in, ask him to look up stuff for you.

Well, it isnt that bad. But I dont think it is very healthy to be on the computer that long. Myabe an hour, but 3. Maybe you could ask him to go somewhere to keep him off of it.

My guy is in his 30's. . .he's an information junkie. . .you tube provides lots of information. I think it's great that he can get information AND entertainment for free at home! We've even watched some documentaries together. It's great. Don't worry - join him sometimes!
