She is forcing my cat to keep running away, this continues and he could get knocked down by a car as my old house is quite a distance.

Do you like your cat? Do you want it to live with you?

Do you want it to be terrorized or hit my a car?

If the answers to the first 2 are yes and the second 2 are no then why in hell don't you keep the cat indoors where it cannot be terrorized, it cannot run away and, barring some freak accident, cannot be hit by a car.

You cat will live longer be healthier, and be away from injuries resulting from fights with other cats, being killed by a dog (That does happen) or hit by a car.

You really have to be a custodian. I cannot understand why, with the cat running away on more than one occasion, you have not already taken this rather obvious action. How about a little common sense being used in this situation. Maybe you like chasing the cat or really want to to get whacked so you won't have to chase it any more. KEEP THE CAT IN THE HOUSE - END ALL THE PROBLEMS WITH A SMALL APPLICATION OF THOUGHT.

Keep your cat indoors. If you think your cat is going to run away again, keep him indoors for awhile untill he really adjusts and gets a feel for his surroundings. If your cat is outdoors, chances are they're going to get into fights with other cats. It's a territorial thing. If it's a stray cat, take it to the animal shelter and that should rid the problem.

The animal administration will shop the animal for 3-7 days, so if it does have an proprietor he or she could have a raffle to reclaim the cat. A microchip cat flap could help because it keeps other cats out your apartment and there is no need for your cat to wear a potentially dangerous collar.

we have a "cat bully" in our neighborhood too, and I use a spray bottle of water on him. Every time he comes into MY yard and picks a fight with MY cat (or tries to eat her food, or whatever) and I see him , I spray him with water. He absolutely HATES it, and it seems like we see alot less of him.

Something else you may need to consider, is that cats like what they like, and your cat may feel like he "knows" the old neighborhood better and continue to return there just because it feels like home. Unfortunately, there's not much that can be done about that....just try to make sure he has all of his same things that smell like him and keep him inside as much as possible till he "learns" that this is home now.

Good luck :)

Make it an indoor cat. The cat might like it better that way anyway, you never know.
