In my country we drink avocado. Basically, put avocado flesh of a half part in the blender together with 2 tbs sugar syrup, 2 tbs condensed chocolate milk and 1 cup of ice. Blend until smooth. Serve with condensed chocolate milk. This has always been an interesting topic for discussion with foreigners...maybe a part of their culture shock...lol..
Most found this avocado drink strange and yuk. Only one I heard said that it was nice.. :-)
Me? I don't like it very much. I eat it when it's in the sushi roll.

Hey! It's got good fats in it.. very healthy. We eat a lot of avocado.. prolly more than vegemite!
I have it just with lemon juice or without. I've never put sugar on it. We put it in salads. (We have a salad every day). The kids put it in their sandwiches with ham and cheese.
A whole avacado is a meal on its own. It's a great fruit.

Take an unripe Avocado, wrap it in aluminum foil and include a 3 to 4 Foot section of wire hanging out of the foil. Drop the foil wrapped avocado into a roaring fire for 5 to 10 minutes. Grab the end of the wire that's NOT in the fire and take it out. open the "package" and gingerly, slice off teh cooked avocado and place the slices on crackers. Albsolutely delicious.

¡I love avocados! and they're good in many things
in sandwiches/burgers
sushi rolls
salads
dips like guacamole
with rice
with Latin-American foods (tacos, fajitas et al.)
by itself with salt & pepper, lemon, or italian dressing
I've never tried it with sugar or as a drink, but it sounds interesting... maybe I'll try it... although I have heard of it in ice-cream. It's also used in some beauty products I think.

My family eats avocado with anything.
Mexican meals
Hamburgers
Salads
Sandwiches
make dips(not just guacamole)
And we have been known to cut it into thin slices, put lemon juice on it, and eat it as a snack.

I take a can of smoked herring or smoked sardines and blend it in a food processor or blender with the flesh of 2 very ripe avacadoes and a little lemon juice and paprika and it makes a tasty and healthy dip for cut-up vegetables or rye flatbread.

That's interesting about how people in Brazil eat it, I didn't know that. I love avocados in any way, shape or form... guacamole, on a nice torta, or just plain with a bit of salt and powdered chile... ñam ñam!!

i know jamie oliver has a good avocado salad recipe with cilantro, sliced green onions, toasted almonds and some red chili (with some olive oil and lemon), it's a great way to have avocados- i often take some in a slice of pita to work.

Usually sliced with a bit of salt and buttered soft fresh Jamaican Hardo Bread or Italian Panini Bread slightly toasted (and buttered). Or sandwiched between two slices of buttered Jamaican Bun (which can be bought here in Canada or in the USA):-)
