You are either here in this body or you are with the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:5-9 (King James Version)

5Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

6Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

7(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

8We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

9Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

THE SOUL IS THE WHOLE BEING ALIVE

We die, our spirit returns to God for the resurrection [ no born, but resurrected ]; Psm.104:29,40; Eze.37:12-14; Eccl.3:19-21; 12:7;
1Cor.15:22-28; Isa.26:19; Rev.20:1-6,12,13 [ the resurrection ];
The spirit of God is the life of the soul Gen.6:3; We are born dying after Adam.
Jesus is the resurrection and the life, to save all possible by resurrection.
John 5:26-29; Acts 17:31; 24:15; Dan.12:2; Heb.9:27; 2Cor.5:10; Rom.14:9-12; Philip.2:5,9-12;

No such thing as a soul, the archetype makes no sense from whatever angle you look at it, and is a rather new archetype in religious theology. After studying theology and science in depth that would seem like the logical conclusion. We have a clear picture of the evolution of religion, and early polytheistic and pantheistic religions didn't even speak of an afterlife, they were there purely to explain natural phenomena that baffled early man.

I am intrigued by the Buddhist teaching of rebirth however. Unlike the Hindu teaching of reincarnation, which teaches of an eternal soul, Buddhists use the natural laws of science, and the very advanced knowledge of psychology acquired by the Buddha, to come up with the teaching of rebirth.

Too long to explain here, but that is the only afterlife teaching that would not be philosophically and physically impossible when broken down. I'm an atheist who aligns his lifestyle close to that of Theravada Buddhism, but as I have said, I do not expect anything more than this life.

Think like life is just a night full of dreams for you. In the morning when you wake up you remember that you had a beautiful or a horrible dream-but in the morning you'll wake up for sure just like for sure your soul will exist after death(believe it or not).

I think there is a separation in our trinity. Your body will die. Your Spirit lives eternally or until god recalls it. Your souls is a history book of your life. It is an energy form housing you like a coat that surrounds your body and spirit. I think you have as many soul records as you have lives on earth. All collected in your book of records. Spirit goes on to another place bases on the energy it has collected. Like attracts like. In My Fathers house there are many dimensions.

I believe after death we will go to heaven or hell. We will be judged by God's law. Of course God will be the one judging us. God's law is the Ten Commandments. Lets go through a couple of the Ten Commandments. Have you ever told a lie? If you have told a lie then you would be called a liar. Have you every stolen anything even if it was something small? If you have stolen something then you would be called a thief. Have you ever hated someone? Jesus said," When we hate people, in our hearts it is just like murdering them. If you have hated someone the bible calls you a murderer. This is just three of the commandments. Everyone has broken the commands of God. Even if you break only one commandment you are guilty of breaking them all. If this is the standard that God will judge us, we would be guilty. God cannot let liars, thieves, and murderers in heaven. If he did then God would not be a good and just judge. I believe if you are guilty of the law you will go to hell. I believe if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, rose from the grave, ascended to heaven, is Lord and God, and you repent and turn from your wicked ways. These are the people that will have the blood of Jesus cover their sins and they will be able to go to heaven. Whether you go to heaven or hell I believe you will be there forever.

Well it depends, if you believe in God and Jesus, then you believe that when you die you go to heaven in the form of a spirit, and when the world ends, you will be reunited with your body.
this is what i believe, and i am glad

From a more practical point of view....... the energy that drives us all can neither be created nor destroyed and is channeled in the bod ...... law of physics dictates to that.

I think that we are all spiritual beings that are temporarily human and not human beings that are temporarily spiritual. So, existing in human form is only a small step in our total journey.
