I use Aveeno Daily Brightening Scrub first to exfoliate my skin, then I use Mary Kay's Velocity cleanser, then I use English Lavender Rosa Mosqueta to tone. The Aveeno runs from $6-$10, the Mary Kay around $20, and the Rosa Mosqueta toner about $10. It's worth it, it's fast and it makes me feel refreshed. It's so quick, too, so I just scrub my face in the shower then slide the toner across it when I get out! Simple, and not too pricy. Take out, add, or change whatever to make if fit you. (Example: Aveeno for dry instead of oily skin, etc.) Links below!

As that other person said, Noxema is a really good brand to try out. I use that in the shower, but at night I pull my hair back and I rub some Clean and Clear sit cream on my zits. It really helps. Also try some face masks. They make your face feel refreshed and you feel a lot better about not walking around with ugly skin.
~Hope I helped~

If you want to avoid risky petro-chemicals you can try a natural soap that doesn't strip your skin which can lead to over-production of sebum. The over-production of sebum is a natural reaction to excessive dryness and chemical damage.
A natural soap made with plant oils and extracts will work wonders for your skin.
Follow with a wipe of witch hazel, lemon juice or vinegar to control bacteria associated with acne.
Finish with a tiny dab of any light vegetable oils, preferably sunflower because of it's high vitamin E content.
