Matt 19:17: "If you want to enter life, obey the commandments."
Mark 10:19-20: "You know the commandments: 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, do not defraud, honor your father and mother.'"
Jesus abolished Old Testament disciplinary laws on diet, Sabbath, and circumcision. But did he abolish laws against murder, adultery, theft, perjury, or fraud, and did he abolish the obligation to honor our parents?

For those who think we are no longer subject to the Ten Commandments, can we murder, commit adultery, steal, lie, defraud, and dishonor our parents out of love? That would be consistent with liberal post-Christian ethics, where aborting a prenate, or having sex with a same-sex partner, is considered loving.

Obviously, everything Jesus taught applies to Christians. Christians are those who recognize Jesus as the way, the truth, and the life. What Jesus taught is true, including the Ten Commandments.
Where Protestants go wrong is in ignoring Jesus' teaching in the gospels (which they may misunderstand by rejecting the authority of the original church) and misinterpreting Paul's teachings about the Jewish law.
Paul reacted strongly against the Jewish Law because it was an impediment to new Christians. If converts had to submit to a surgical procedure on the genitals, give up many good foods, and worship on a different day than the Christians, they would not join with the Way of Christ.
In making his case against the Law of Moses, Paul overstated the retraction of the Law. Where Jewish laws of national discipline, like circumcision, diet, and Sabbath, were overthrown, the Ten Commandments and all laws of morality remain in effect. Jesus is quite clear which laws were for everyone and which were human traditions.

Jesus did not abolish the Old Law - He perfected it. He gave us a New Law which must be followed. Some of the practices of the Old Law, such as sacrifice, were rendered unnecessary by Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. So, yes, Christians are obliged to follow the Ten Commandments.
Btw, as he did not abolish the Ten Commandments, the commandment "Thou shalt keep holy the Lord's day" is still in effect. The Sabbath still exists, we just keep it on Sun. as a commemoration of Christ's Resurrection.

The entire Mosaic system ended. Your rationale follows the detractors of Paul over this same subject when they accused him of saying, well then, let's sin so that grace may abound.
The law of the Christian is a law of love one is supposed to have even for an enemy.
Would you murder those you love? No. Murder comes from a spirit of hatred. The Christian's spirit is one of love.
Love fulfills the law; all of it. The letter of the law merely "keeps" the law; complying with it regardless of what is in the heart. If you have a spirit of murder, but refrain from murder, so what? No brownie points for you.

Jesus, in the Sermon on the Mount, gave us the real meaning of the law - it goes to the heart, not just to your actions. You can have a heart filled with adultery even if you never commit it; a heart filled with murder even if you never do it; a heart that steals even if you never steal. And God looks at the heart as well as the actions.
"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." (Mat 22:37-40)

Jesus carried 9 of the 10 Commandments over. He did not carry over "Remember the Sabbath".

Christ never abolished anything, his coming was simply to fulfill prophesy and give us a new law, but we are still to respect the laws that God gave Moses, unfortunately man has chosen not to he still has a violent and murderous way and continues to get worse.

The Ten Commandments certainly still apply to Christians. The Ten Commandments came before the Law of Moses, and the Law of Moses was given because the people refused to accept such a short and simple list of rules. At the root of all of the Laws of Moses was the Ten Commandments and looking forward to the coming of Christ.

Jesus gave us more then 70 commandments within His testimony. The commandments that he reiterated where those that God the Father had given us (spirits) from the beginning, and Because many of the Jews were blameless, for following the commandments given by Moses that were not of God the Father, Jesus had compassion for them, because they thought the Commandments given to them by Moses were of God the Father. Jesus told you that Satan mixes lies with truth, but you do not believe the words Jesus spoke in your hearts and minds.
Jesus told us that Moses gave you not that bread from heaven, but my Father giveth you the TRUE bread from heaven.
John the witness of Jesus told us that the laws were given by Moses, but grace and TRUTH came by Jesus Christ.
Jesus told us that all those who came before Him were thieves and robbers.
Jesus in a revelation to John told us straight out about Moses, but because of the hardness of your hearts you do not believe His words. Read Rev 13:10-18 Jesus is revealing the truth about Moses, but because your love darkness (lies) more then the light (truth) your hearts will not believe.

Where did you get the idea that He abolished all the old Law.
I come not to destroy the Law but to fulfill it. Those are Christ's words not mine.
Naturally the Ten Commandments apply to-day.

The guy Jesus said that to, was trying to be justified by the law, not grace. But only grace saves. The law saves no one.
The ten commandments only show us that we're sinners. We can't keep them, that's why we need Jesus to save us.
That's why when Jesus explained them, He said that you don't have to physically murder someone, just be angry at them without a cause, or you don't have to physically commit adultery, just look upon another that you're not married to, and you did it.
But the guy Jesus said that verse to, thought he actually hadn't broken any of them.
In reality, he of course did, because all of us have.
