has nothing made indegenously except minor ones.
HAL's got calibre of manufacturing DOORS for the German giant AIRBUS.
NAVY requests to Russia not to dump that GORSHKOV ship, what'smore it became India's largest defence deal.
Kargil War alone blasted the economy,

India is well enough equipped and if PUSH comes to SHOVE in Kashmir or Pakistan, will give a good account of its self.

India has traditionally been aligned with Russia
from whom all defence equipments are purchased.The communists being what they are have been passively approving all these purchases.They are also going to sign a deal for securing Sukhoi helicopters at much higher cost than normal.Not a murmur from the communists.The moment they signed the
nuclear agreement with the USA the communists are up in arms and have started their blackmail.The government which appears to be spineless and administered by politicians
who want to cling to their seats because of the attendant monetary and other advantages is
showing signs of capitulating.With this sort of a background it is a wonder that the Indian army
is supposed to be elite,technologically advanced comparable to the best in the world.
Still and all,so long as India can boast of a
nuclear deterrent,its armed forces are something that cannot be sneezed at.So we can claim that our armed forces can stand shoulder to shoulder with the best there is .

YES.

In the last joint exercise the Indian Air Force had with the USAF, the Indians clobbered the USAF. Pretty embarrassing for the USAF to say the least. Some claim the USAF threw the exercise so they could use it as an example to justify getting the F22.

Keep in mind, the Hindus had years of British rule and they paid attention to what the British had to say and they modeled their military along British lines. If a fight comes between then and any other nation in the area other than China, India would win easily. (That is why Pakistan is being nice.)

according to independent observers the valor is royal poetry . india had faced enough problems agains pak in 1965 and 1971 and kargil war in terms of losses against a country which is 1/6 of the size of india.

Oh yes u are absolutely right. India has nothing of its own. Not only in the case of technology & wars.
Be it music, film concepts, soaps & serials etc most of them are imitated or pirated from abroad.
They can only produce babies so India has a huge army population rather than arms which is worthless.
