There's no requirement for a Catholic to pray the Rosary.
Catholics choose to do so for some or all of the following reasons:
The Rosary affirms all the best qualities of humanity, and it also celebrates God's very own confirmation of his original plan for mankind.
The Rosary celebrates the fullfillment of God's promise to send a redeemer, the seed of the woman, who would crush the head of the serpent.
The Rosary is almost totally scriptural, as it is taken directly from the gospel of St. Luke: "Luk 1:28 And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. Luk 1:41 And it came to pass that when Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the infant leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost.
Luk 1:42 And she cried out with a loud voice and said: Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb."
The Rosary is a very effective meditation, since it relies on several other key scriptural sequences (called mysteries) as well, which celebrate Christ's life, death, resurrection, and much more.
Very few people manage to actually commit sin, in word or in deed, while they are engaged in praying the Rosary ... so praying the Rosary certainly enhances personal holiness.
The Rosary can be succesfully prayed alone, while walking, driving, or working ... or it can be prayed along with groups of any size ... and almost anywhere.
The Rosary is a personally satisfying way to pray, as it proceeds in an orderly fashion from prayer to prayer, from beginning to end. If it is interrupted for any reason, it can be easily resumed and completed later.
The Blessed Virgin, through various approved apparitions, has confirmed the effectiveness and the value of praying the Rosary, for the purpose of converting sinners, giving honor and glory to God, and making reparations for our sins and the sins of the whole world.
Catholics have found that praying the Rosary is a practical and effective way to engage in personal or public prayer and petition, especially in times of crisis.
Praying the Rosary is particlarly satisfying for those whose own mothers have already died.
The Rosary is one of several universally accepted, widely practiced devotions of the universal and worldwide Catholic church, so it brings the faithful together, whenever and wherever it is prayed.
Unlike the repetetive chants and rants of the pagans, who prayed to false and powerless gods, to no good end ... the purpose of the Rosary is to give constant honor, praise, and thanksgiving to God, who saves us through his power and his grace, and who chose to save us particularly through his son, Jesus, who will always be the son of Mary, the humble woman who willingly cooperated so closely and faithfully with him for us, in his great work of redemption.
The following verse proves that God has no problem at all with (appropriate) repetitive prayer:
"Rev 4:8 And the four living creatures had each of them six wings: and round about and within they are full of eyes. And they rested not day and night, saying: Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come.
Rev 4:9 And when those living creatures gave glory and honour and benediction to him that sitteth on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever:"
Blessed be God!

The rosary is the most powerful spiritual weapon. I grew up in the Catholic faith and i started learning about the rosary. This prayer form is a way to focus on all the mysteries. The Joyful mysteries, The Luminous Mysteries, The sorrowful mysteries, The Glorious mysteries. And i thought the rosary was vain repetitious. But i was wrong. The rosary is not vain repetitious. It's part of the Catholic faith.

As a Irish Catholic, i strongly believe that praying the rosary is a way to maintain peace and harmony. Some people outside of the Catholic faith think it's idolatry. Others who are members of the Catholic faith not so. We do not worship the Virgin Mary. But we do revere her.

We have to remember that we are in October, the month of the rosary. Let us, from now on, pray the rosary daily, just as our Lady asked. The rosary is really powerful, it can do big changes.

The rosary is a beautiful prayer that allows Catholics to reflect on the life of Christ (and Mary) which we pray because it was given to us by Mary. It's a devotional thing. Many people dismiss it or condemn its practice because they do not understand it. As for me, I say praying the rosary is a wonderful thing, a gift which we have been granted.
--edit-- Catholics are not idolaters. We don't pray to inanimate objects which were man man. Also, we don't worship Mary. She was the mother of God, and so we revere her and ask for her prayers, because as the mother of God she is a very influential, loving person in Heaven. Recall the wedding at Cana...

Rosary helps us to remind the essences of the Gospel through events meditation in light of Mary's faith.
So the most important things to do is to meditate events before each unit of 10-Hail Marys.

Catholics are not saved Christians, but are a cult that teaches a false gospel of works that leads to eternal hell. Your "praying the rosary" is speaking worthless words into the air.

i don't want to condemn no Else beliefs cause that's not right in God's eyes but you are praying to an idol that has no eyes that cannot see and ears that cannot hear a word that you are saying anyways so you are just talking to your self and crying to yourself ..........
