SisterZe had a "question" that stated that snakes were somehow satanic. My question is, if snakes are satanic, why did God save them from the flood? Why not wipe then off the face of the earth right then and be done with it? That seems like the logical thing to do. What say you all?

Snakes are NOT SATANIC ! God uses a Snake lifted up on a poll to cure the children of Israel of the bites of the fiery Serpents He sent among them for their Sinning. Later Jesus used that same example as a type of Himself, when He said," As the Serpent was lifted up in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, but, if I be lifted up, I'll draw all men unto myself."

Snakes, are simply God's living thing's, neither bad or good. The fact where Snakes have been eradicated, vermin, and disease has run rampant !

God said the reason he flooded the entire earth (LOL!!) was to rid the world of evil man and save only the "holy ones..."

If god's intent was to rid the world of evil humans, why didn't he at that point change man's basic nature so that, as a free-will being, man could only freely pick from good options, and not bad ones? If he's already pulling out the stops to make all animals travel two-by-two in a boat logically impossible for them all, opening heaven and earth to bury underwater every single square-inch of dry land, and then making sure 95% of all marsupials make their way to Australia after the flood in an effort to "confuse" scientific data, why stop there? Why not change man's basic nature when the population is only eight?

This is the logical fallacy of fairy tales...

No good answers to the impossible stories they tell...

Well I don't know about them being satanic. But snakes are useful for killing rats and other vermin that can get out of control population wise. God created a means for checks and balances amongst the creatures themselves in nature.

They are not, I have two redtail boas.

Some people believe this because they miss read the bible, Satan presented himself in the garden as a serpent, it does not say snake, but it could have been a snake. Here is what it says ....

Genesis 3
1Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

A snake is not a beast and I have never seen one talk.

Snakes themselves are not Satanic, but because of the bible and the story of the talking snake they've gotten a bad rap. Personally, I am scared to death of them, but not because they're evil. I almost got bit by one when I was younger and it was poisonous, so since then I've had a terrible phobia of them. I can't even look at one without flipping out.

I respect Sisterzeal as she usually is repectful and well spoken. I did not answer that question of hers because I thought it was not quite up to her usual par of well thought out rationalism.
I would hope to think no one believes snakes are satanic...but heck, I didn't believe there were people who believed the earth was 6000 years old either. Interesting planet we live on here.

Snakes are charming, beautiful creatures without an ounce of malice. How very typical of humans to demonise something they fear.
