My friend's cat has gotten very ill because a large mass was found in his chest and he constantly needs to have fluid drained. He's fine for a bit afterward, but after a week or so, he has to be taken back to be drained They think he might need to be put down, But I have to know, it there any other way? I sugested surgery, but the mas is so large that they're afraid if they do surgery, it'll be too wraped around his vitals to do anything. Please, I don't want this cat to die, he's not very old (only about 6 or so), can anyone think of something?

i replaced into clinically determined with hodgkins 3b, i did the chemo and the radiation. if i had my time lower back i wouldn't in any respect have achieved the radiation. the docs wont permit you know the area impacts because of the fact in the event that they do, that's extremely possibly you will say no. there is an danger that the main cancers will come back regardless. with the radiation i had burns and recieved inner scarring. of my acquaintances who did and didnt do radiation, those that didnt have a extra effective high quality of existence. they replaced what they ate and are lower back at paintings. even inspite of the indisputable fact that my diagnosis replaced into 3b I even have never been waiting to paintings lower back because of the fact the radiation. neither have my acquaintances who have been 2a and 2b. you're nevertheless youthful so your physique can nevertheless combat with the splendid transformations on your existence. insist on the full guidance. the different factor i might propose may be to bypass to a maximum cancers well being midsection and ask sufferers, some are chuffed to allow you know what you need to renowned. in case you do bypass to a well being midsection determine you dont have the flu or a cough etc coz their immune gadget would be down. i'm hoping this enables you

My cat has a mass the size of a tangerine wrapped around one side of his stomach, they did an ultrasound and said it was inoperable, where it was placed. But it stopped growing and is spongy, not making any fluid in the rest of his chest. So we're taking it as it goes.

If the draining is working, keep it up. Surgery is probably not an option if the vet thinks it's too extensive.

What's causing this mass? I agree that your friend needs to talk with the vet about it.

If surgery is viable, go for it. But if not- Better to let the kitty go rather than make him suffer. It will be hard, I know: I had to make a similar choice at the beginning of the year.

The vet should be giving better info to you. What is the mass? How much is the cat suffering? What is the prognosis? A suffering cat, to me, is not better than a deceased cat. So what does the vet say? I would follow the vet's advice on this one.

go to a lot of different vets.

test the fluid and see what it is...or where its coming from. i could be an infection, or it could be something worse :(

get a 2nd and 3rd opinion before you make any lethal decisions
